Republican Lunatics or Extreme Willful Ignorance Destroying America

If you would like to get to know what the average Republican Voter thinks, you should listen to the interview Right wing unfiltered, part 1 & 2 at the bottom of the story. All I can say is, that guy is as ignorant as the day is long. He doesn't have the slightest idea of what he is talking about. He doesn't have any knowledge of how our government works, the words in the Constitution or anything of the facts concerning the political situation in Washington. All the person being interviewed did was to parrot the false talking points, the lies invented by people like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michelle Bachmann and Sean Hannity.

I'm telling you Republicans. You are getting sold down the river by a bunch of crooks. If this person's displayed lack of knowledge is an indication of the average Republican's lack of knowledge, well all I can say is damn! What a bunch of willfully ignorant people.

If ignorance is bliss, the rank and file of the Republican Party must be extremely blissful.

Now please, all of you Democrats and Republicans alike, listen to this interview. I hope the Republican viewers don't become to embarrassed by the association.

Meteor Close Call a Wake-up Call

What if the meteor 2012 DA14 had hit Albuquerque? I read that it is about the same size as the one that made Meteor Creator in Arizona. Here you go. I overlaid the creator on top of Alb. to get an idea. Wow!

Of course none of the houses for miles around it would be left standing. I sure am glad 2012 DA14 stayed 17,200 miles away. I sure hope we can get a real multinational effort going to deal with this problem. The sooner the better. We should consider ourselves lucky that our species is intelligent enough to realize this danger, and have the means to do something about it.

Meteors and Dash Cameras

What an exciting time it's been the last few days. Close calls of cosmic scales. One asteroid as big as half a football field coming to within 17500 miles of Earth. Then as the world trained their telescopes to that event, a fireball appears over Russia. A spectacular and dangerous one too! It caused wide spread damage, and around 1000 injuries.
 
This really shows how much humanity is at the whim of fate and forces bigger than us. It makes me think it would be a good idea for humanity to speed up its efforts to colonize space.

One other thing that caught my eye was the GoPro camera mentioned. I read that a lot of people in Russia have these to record traffic accidents and record police abuse. I think that is a good idea. I'm going to attach a camera on to my car so I can have a video record of whatever.

State of the Union: Energy Security Trust

The President said, "prepare our communities for the consequences of climate change". Because of that statement I am sure that the prevailing attitude towards global warming is, it is a fact happening now. It is something that can not be thought of in terms of avoiding, but rather something that the damages from must be mitigated.

That's pretty sad that our planet has come to that. I support the idea of setting up an Energy Security Trust, paid for with oil and gas revenues. With that and the ending of subsidies for oil corporations  we may have the resources to invest in the research that will end our use of fossil fuels to power our transportation needs.

That will be an up hill battle. The oil giants will fight the idea of ending a system that produces billions of dollars in profits for them every year. If they were smart, and progressive, they would embrace a new system of power generation.

I was talking to one of my colleagues who mentioned a new way of doing things I thought was pretty cool. Get the range of electric cars up to 400 miles. Have stations people can pull into where discharged battery units could be swapped out for freshly charged ones. The discharged unit could be placed in a charger that was powered by solar energy. A service station could have banks of these battery units charging in rotation. The energy companies have the money and ability to create such a system. All that is lacking is the will.

I like that idea because it stops the burning of fossil fuels for transportation. It reduces the chance of oil spills because there would be less of a need for drilling and transporting the crude oil. It would also eliminate the need for thousands of underground storage tanks for gasoline, that are an environmental risk in their own right.

Our President said, "We produce more natural gas than ever before -- and nearly everyone’s energy bill is lower because of it. And over the last four years, our emissions of the dangerous carbon pollution that threatens our planet have actually fallen".

I'm not happy about that. Most of the new natural gas produced lately has been the result of fracking. Fracking is an environmentally risky proposition at best. The process injects millions of gallons of toxic chemicals into the ground that find their way into our fresh ground water aquifers. This is unacceptable.

The United States has reduced its carbon emissions, only to see that reduction negated by higher emissions in other parts of the world. A lot of those higher emissions in other parts of the world are produced by surplus coal from the United States. That coal being made surplus because of the gas produced by fracking.

You can't toot your environmental horn if you shift the pollution from one place to the other. That is only hiding the problem instead of dealing with it. We can not shift the problem from one place to the other, and think we will no longer be effected. What ever we do effects them, and what they do effects us. Elimination of the root cause is the only proper course of action. Not shifting, or hiding the problem.

Proof of the Unsustainable Growth in Power Consumption

 Here is something that should scare the pants off you. This Link provided shows a NOAA, real animation of the growth in China from 1992 to 2010. In a just 18 short years their energy consumption has skyrocketed. While you look at this horror movie, don't forget to take a look at India. They are quickly lighting up the world too!

Now for the worst part. This is not slowing down. It is speeding up. Fast forward to the year 2050. If I live that long, I'll be a 93 year old in a very different world than we have today. We will have that magic 4 degrees rise in global temps by then, and the Earths climate will be very unstable. Super Storm Sandy, and the Blizzard of 2013 will seem like the good old days compared to the mega-storms coming. The hot Summer of 2012 will look like a warm spring day, compared to the brutal temperatures we will have coming down the pike.
 


Two more years until Senate elections in the United States. Four more years to go until new Congressmen and a new President will be elected. If we are ever avert this nightmare to come, we must put people in elected government office. Not just a few people, but enough to make a real difference.

I see the protests, and have seen them for half a century. Very little has changed. The tar sands keep being dug. The Gulf keeps getting trashed. We can not continue like this. Time to take power, and really change things. Not just here in the US, but in Canada, Mexico and all of the industrialized world. That includes China in that as well. The people are starting to get very tired of the pollution in their cities. They are now starting to complain to the government about the unbearable smog and other pollution. I really believe the average Chinese citizen did not know what they were in for, when the massive industrialization of China started. Now they are in it up to their necks.

This has to be a global effort. All like minded peoples of the world must put people in government who will truly protect their true interests. Right now all we have are governments who protects the plutocracy.

Times running out. Protest is fine, but not enough.


A Whole New Paradigm Is Required for Survival

Here is what humans need to do to save ourselves and our planet's environment.

(1) Everyone will have to give up private transport that burns fossil fuels. Mass transit that must be powered with solar energy, or human power must be employed. None of that electric car idea, if it is charged by a fossil fuel burning power plant somewhere.

(2) No more use of aircraft with jet engines. People should instead be moved long distances with ground transport powered by solar energy.

(3) Ban the use of plastics for packaging made from petrochemicals. A whole host of products now made from plastics must be made from something else.

(4) Construct solar arrays in geosynchronous orbit that will provide humanity with the bulk of their household and business electric needs.

(5) Massive efforts are needed to harvest asteroids resources, and to process these resources off world.

(6) Any new product must be evaluated for environmental impact. From the harvesting of the materials, to manufacture, to the end of its useful life. If found to impact our environment negatively, it should not be allowed.

(7) Reduce the population of the Earth to 1920's levels. That would be about 2 billion people. Then not allow for more population than a stable environment can sustain without damage.

(8) Build colonies on the Moon and Mars. Then continue to expand outward.

The long distance transport of people over global distances should be done with a new system. Build land bridges between the continents. Something like the one proposed to span the Bering Strait, and other places. Then build rail, or maglev transit systems powered by solar, that would have speeds of over 400 mph. These could be very large. Use present technology to build craft that would rival the Boeing 747 in size. These could have all the comfort of a luxury liner, and replace air transport. That alone would reduce greenhouse pollutants made by jet aircraft by hundreds of millions of tons per year.

Me must stop using plastics for every little thing. We must use paper or other materials to package products. We must use other materials as cases for electronic devices, and other instrumentality, and items. We must use materials that are able to be recycled with a minimum of energy, and they must be biodegradable. No more making of use and toss items and products that then linger, as is, in our environment for thousands of years.

Humanity must stop using fossil fuels as a power source, PERIOD! We have seen all to well how this habit has damaged our environment. Besides that, petrochemicals are to valuable of a resource to just burn them up. Even though we must drastically reduce our use of plastic, there are many items we need that plastic is the only material to be used.

Humans can build solar arrays in orbit to provide power for homes. The Japanese are building one right now! We need a massive world wide effort to do the same. We have the technology, and the idle workforce to construct a project of such a magnitude. I do believe that, in combination with ground based solar, and solar rechargeable small devices, we could cut our greenhouse emissions drastically, and put many people to work.

We must stop harvesting metal ores and other non-living materials from the earth. We must begin to harvest these resources from the infinite supply in outer space. The mining, and processing of metals within our ecosystem causes unacceptable levels of environmental damage to our planet. With present growth in population, and consumption, it is a unsustainable proposition at best.

Humanity must begin the process of moving our world wide culture of expansion into the unlimited frontiers of space. Building solar arrays in orbit, mining of asteroids, the Moon and even Mars and other bodies, can be the catalyst that allows humans to keep our economies viable, and restores our environment.

Humans have always depended on expansion for economic growth. Humanity has expanded to all corners of the Earth. There are only two places on Earth that are left relatively untouched. The Arctic and the Antarctic. They are now being looked at as possible places to harvest resources. They must be off limits to expansion. If we start to use those resources with the same reckless abandon we do everywhere else, the world's life forms will suffer very badly because of it. So we must look towards the stars as the next logical frontier. We must do that if we want to preserve our world for the generations to come.

I want humanity to be around for a very long time. If humans survived into the end of time, that would be great. I could imagine our species, and our world of the year 3013. There are two ways to go. One leads to extinction. The other towards true greatness, and continued survival for our species.

It will take all this and more to turn this around. If we want our children in the year 3013 to have a green planet to live on and to visit, we must start now to correct things. It will take a global effort, and all of its people. It may take the establishing of a world wide governmental system to enforce, and to carry out these bold measures.

There are many details that must be worked out, and quickly. Like this one. How do we reduce our world wide population of humans from 7 billion to 2 billion without wholesale slaughter. The thought of rewarding people for not having children comes to mind. Also the building of off world colonies to allow human numbers to continue to increase without the increased stressing our ecosystem.

The entire human race will have to do things much smarter in the 21st century if we plan to have a stable environment on Earth. Shall we make the 21st century known for the saving of our species, or shall it be known as he beginning of the end. It really is up to each and every one of us. We better make up our minds and quick. Time is running out.

 I can see why global warming has become an accepted fact. Something not to be stopped, but something to be cooped with. with 38.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere by almost 7 billion people it is a monster problem. I see that as being 5.477 tons per person, per year. That is a lot of carbon. I only weigh 155 pounds, but it takes the production of 5 and a half tons of carbon for me to survive through the year. Something don't sound right here.

I'm aware that the carbon produced by some out weighs that produced by others. The people who live a natural lifestyle in the forests of South America surly don't add much at all. Their carbon production is a drop in the bucket compared to some rich person living in a multi-million dollar estate. I look at my lifestyle and think I must be somewhere in the middle of the carbon producing graph. That tells me there are some people out there who must be producing very much more carbon than I. Maybe 100 times the amount, or one thousand times the amount. It is hard for me to know.

I also see a mass of people who are unwilling to turn down the heat, because they have grown accustomed to the luxuriant life style it affords. Industry doesn't want to turn down the heat because they are making a bunch of money. They can use all that money to keep up the heat, that in turn provides the luxury they have grown accustom to.

People would rather accept global warming than to cut back even one iota. I'm part to blame. In the summer time, when it gets to hot, I turn on the air conditioner. When I turn on the AC, some more fossil fuels are burned to provide the power. That adds to the green house gasses, which helps to make the weather hotter. So I turn up the power on the AC to compensate, and around, and around we go times several billion. Day in, and day out. Maybe I'll just have to reserve the AC for any days that get over 110 degrees. I can survive that kind of temps. It may not feel very good, but it is doable. What about everyone else? It don't do any good if only one person does it. Everyone has to do it.

There's no turning back now. People are just are not ready to make the sacrifices necessary to stop this. With the human population exploding, there will be even more carbon dioxide added. Shall we go for 100 billion tons per year?

There are two things needed that can reverse the climate change. Bring our world population back down to perhaps 1920's era levels, about 2 billion. And cut our per capita carbon dioxide production by 75%. That would bring down world wide human production of carbon dioxide to 2.74 billion tons. That may not be enough.

Can our planet capture and store that much carbon each year? If not the cuts would have to be even more severe. I truly believe the human race will never willingly make such a sacrifice. Not until a disaster of global proportions happens, one in which there could be no doubt by anyone that the cause is global warming. Not until then will there be real action by our species, to reverse this. By then it may be to late.

I would like to point something out. In 
this article they say, "The Russian and U.S. teams are drilling into the lakes in hopes of finding evidence of life forms that could have been living in the dark for thousands of years, or even millions of years."

That is only part of the story. They don't tell you the true reason for their quest for life under the ice. They aren't looking for life under the ice in preparation for searching for life on the ice-covered moons of Jupiter and Saturn. They are seeking life because they want to know if there is life under all that ice that could transform organic matter into hydrocarbons like oil, gas, coal and hydrides.

The Antarctic has not been covered with ice from the beginning of time. There was a time millions of years ago, when there were forests, rivers and lakes teaming with life. Now that extinct life has been trapped under the Antarctic ice for countless millennia. Now the powers that be must know if there is energy resources trapped under all that ice. They deduce that if they find life under the ice, they will also find vast quantities of untapped energy resources. Some estimated as high as 22 trillion metric tons of hydrides alone. Personally, I think the number is grossly underestimated.

In all seriousness I doubt the Russians would go to the trouble of drilling a 2 mile deep hole in the ice, just to look for microbes and prepare for some long shot mission to Saturn's moons in the distant future. I do believe they would drill a two mile hole in search for power. They, and we do that all the time.

These guys are already playing a dangerous game of chess over resources in the Arctic. Soon they will be doing the same in the Antarctic. We can't let that happen. Look at our planet after 100 years of burning fossil fuels. Could you imagine the devastation if we release all the carbon trapped in the Arctic and the Antarctic too? What would our world be like then?

Seriously folks, I got a very bad feeling about all this rush for ice bound energy. It doesn't bode well for humanity at all.

Our president said "We all agree that it’s critical to cut unnecessary spending. But we can’t just cut our way to prosperity.", but how can I take him seriously when I see a federal court house lawn being remodeled when it didn't really need it, or our president handing out $140 souvenir pens every time he signs a document. Our leadership needs to broaden its focus. They seem to only pay attention to the items in the budget that are the most visible. Our leadership needs to use that budget ax on all the thousands of little items too. Like the $220,000 bathroom remodeling.

"For example, we need to lower the cost of health care in programs like Medicare that are the biggest drivers of our deficit, without just passing the burden off to seniors." There really needs to be something done here. It needs to be done to hospitals and doctors who over charge, and crooks who defraud the system. I went to the ER not long ago, and seen the bill they handed to Medicare. My complaint was that I was getting dizzy and feeling shaky. I thought I was coming down with the flu that had been killing folks. The ER bill was over $5000. That looks excessive as hell! That couple hours, an IV of saline, an x-ray (that was done by students) and some lab tests cost over $5000? It just don't sit right with me.

I am beginning to wonder if when the Medicare system was put in place, the fact that doctors now had a well of patients, with guaranteed payment of the bill, was a major contributing factor to the wild growth of medical costs in the United States. We all know the story. The feds put out a request for bids on something, the low bid wins, cost over runs happen. $150 hammer anyone? $25 aspirin make you feel better?

Our immigration system is broken. It has been for some time.

Right now, there are 11 million people living in a shadow economy. There are Americans waiting in long lines to reunite with their families. There are employers who are exploiting the system by hiring undocumented workers, and that threatens the wages and working conditions of American workers. None of this is good for the economy, and it isn’t fair for the middle class.

So President Obama is determined to fix this broken system so that everyone plays by the same rules, and we wanted to make sure you get the details. Here's what he wants to do:

-- First, continue to improve the security on our borders;

-- Second, crack down on the companies that hire undocumented workers;

-- Third, provide undocumented immigrants the chance to earn their citizenship and hold them accountable by requiring that they learn English, pay taxes and a penalty, move to the back of the line, and pass background checks; and

-- Fourth, streamline the legal immigration system for families, workers, and businesses.

The good news is that lawmakers from both parties agree with that basic set of principles, and a bipartisan group of Senators is already working on a bill that's consistent with President Obama's proposal. That's big.

But the surest way to keep up the momentum is for people like you to show that you agree as well. 2012 global temperatures 10th highest on record

 The collapse of the environment must be stopped, but it will require people to change the way they live. That change will be very hard as long as we have persons of influence telling other people the environmental damage is not real. As long as some of the people are willing to follow their lies, we have a problem. One of the major things I seem to fight on a daily basis is the blind acceptance of what is told to people.

Take the issue global warming. No matter what side of the fence people are on, they say "I'm for it because of something". Then the other will say "I'm against it because of something". That "something" is something someone on the radio or TV told them. I ask them if they read any scientific data about the issue, and 90% of the time the answer is no.
 
2012 Significant Climate Anomalies and Events

People have asked me questions about global warming, in an effort to make me stumble. They don't ask in a spirit seeking knowledge. The doubters already have their minds made up for them, by someone else. The answers they seek are readily available on the internet or the library. One can go to the NASA, or ESA web sites, and many others and get reams of information about the subject. The followers of false information much rather listed to the lies, instead of thinking for them self. It is easier to let someone else do their thinking for them. That allows them to blind themselves, and justify their selfish actions among their peers.

The selfishness is a major problem. I see this every where I turn. For example, I seen a poster that advocated there be a constitutional amendment in the United States. One in which it would be against the law to send aid to other countries when there are people here who are hungry.

You would be amazed by how many people support such a selfish idea. They put on a mask that says "I care" about people, then underneath it they despise helping a fellow, just because they are on the other side of a man made border. It is a selfish thought they have, and probably advanced by one of the manipulators of the ignorant.

How about a constitutional amendment in the United States that says we should not waste food. Here in the US 40% of the food grown is never eaten. It is wasted. But yet people don't even consider it when making cold statements like, "feed us before them". 

How many times do I have to tell people there is no us and them, before they take it to heart? There is only humanity. One people, one race, the human race.

Every time we let one person go hungry we damage the body of humanity. Every time we feed, or help our brother and sister human beings we make the body of humanity stronger.

There is some ancient wisdom that comes to mind. No June 16, 1858 the wise human Abraham Lincoln delivered this address to his Republican colleagues in the Hall of Representatives, "A house divided against itself cannot stand,".

His law partner, William H. Herndon, believed Lincoln was morally courageous but politically incorrect. Reflecting on it several years later, Herndon said, "Through logic inductively seen, Lincoln as a statesman, and political philosopher, announced an eternal truth -- not only as broad as America, but covers the world." 

The words Lincoln said that day 155 years ago were ancient when he said them, and still they ring true. If humanity, ALL OF HUMANITY, doesn't start pulling together, it will be continued suffering intensified for us all.

The human house is very divided. Our foundations are cracking. There is still time to mend the cracks and save all of humanity for true greatness. It will take the efforts of an entire planet, because it is a global problem. Humanity can't do it if everyone is fighting against one another trying to grab this and that. It brings to mind a sight of two babies in a crib. One of them has a toy and the other wants it, and takes it without a second thought. It is a very old thing within the human spirit.

Adult human beings have that thing in them, held onto from their childhood. They also have the intellect to make all kinds of instrumentality to enforce their will. A dangerous combination if left unchecked. Its people like us who are a governor on the throttle. If it weren't for people like us, the throttle would be pressed to the floor.

I remember back in the early 1960's, my mother, brother and I were walking along downtown Milwaukee. We came to the bridge crossing the Milwaukee river, and we paused and look at the waters. I remember the fish floating belly up in it and the filth. If it wasn't for people making their displeasure known, it would still be that way, and worse.

Now is the beginning of a new time indeed. There is evidence of it right here before our very eyes. This conversation we are having right now is that evidence. This conversation is multiplied millions of times across the planet. There is much work to be done to save it.

Aging America: Elder abuse on the rise

This is one good reason to have 2nd amendment rights. I remember grandpa King, when he was like 80, walking around the property with a shot gun. Old people need to have the means to protect themselves from cowards who would do such an act.

That's shameful, and cowardly for people to abuse a person who is weaker than them. Shame on them. More information here.

I was going to say "I can hardly believe my eyes", but I won't say that because I can believe it.

The GOP is at it again. This dirty scheme against the American voter is another example of how the GOP doesn't give a damn about what the majority of the people want. Mitt Romney won 47% of the popular vote, but if the GOP had this rotten scheme in place he would have still won by 11 electoral votes.

To me it sounds like the GOP only cares about getting power, no matter what kind of slimy tricks they have to use to do it. They lost a lot of support because of a bunch of bone head statements made by (errr, what I want to call them) dummies in their party. So, because they can not win by merit, they are going to try to steal the White House in 2016 by gerrymandering.

Again the GOP has proven they do not care one iota about the will of the people. They only care about forcing their will on the people. UNACCEPTABLE!

Perhaps we need to abandon the electoral collage and go to a strictly popular vote. We the people need to send a strong message to Washington that this underhanded scheming by the GOP, or any other party will not be tolerated!

We all go through times in our life where we feel that there is to much weight on our shoulder,and it needs to be lifted off. Nothing nor anyone is perfect,and as we grow older we learn new things all the time, age makes us wiser. I just want to let everyone know that I care about my family and my friends and always pray for them. I just wish that the world was different, no sickness, no hurt, no disrespect and just have a world of cures, no hurting, and a lot of respect. I know this will never happen,but to all of you I want to tell you I care and Love you. Thank you for all the kindness and the support people here on FB and people here at home have given to me. I read this today, and it touched me deeply for all the wrong reasons. It touched me because I see it as a crying out echoed all across our nation and the world. It touched me the wrong way because it causes me great pain to know people believe it true, and much of it is true.

I think the majority feel that great weight bearing down on them. It is not the privileged who feel the weight, it is all the people who support the privileged few who are being crushed by that weight. But we must endure. We must bear a weight, and much more, but it is not the weight of oppression. It is the weight of responsibility for our fellow human beings. Not for the few's sake, but for the many now, and the many yet to come. 

Test me oh reality. Let me know how much weight I can bear until I can no longer stand. Then pile on more, until I can no longer kneel. It may take even more to lay me down to the ground, but let me have it. Let me have it because my single life matters not, when all of humanity is at stake. Rise up and be tested, and take on that weight for your children's sake. For your neighbor's sake, and all of our brother's and sister's sake all across our mother Earth.

I've learned a few things in my years. I've suffered, and cried. I've laughed and been filled with joy. All the human emotion and pain, short of death, has been visited upon me. I can not complain. I am not worthy to complain because what ever suffering I've had is nothing compared to the suffering put on others. The world is a harsh place indeed. There will always be sickness and hurt. That is the way of the universe. Sickness and hurt can not be avoided. We all, as living creatures, will have that bitter cup to drink. That will come no matter what, but we do not have to put that upon each other.

The disrespect is another thing. That is human made and human wrought. The disrespect has many names. Bigot, racist, sexist, zealot, intolerance, slavery, hate, I could keep going and name many names for the demon disrespect. That is something we can do something about. Our biggest enemy in the battle against it is fear. Where ever we see this wrong being weighted down on any of our people, we must suppress our fear and shout out "We will not allow it", even if it causes us to loose our lives. Our lives mean nothing if we live in fear. I would rather die fighting this injustice, than lay down in fear and accept it, and die a meaningless death. That is the only way to stop it, unfortunately. It is the fear of death we all have inside us that is used as a tool of power against us. We must make that tool be ineffective by mustering the courage from deep inside.

My father once told me along time ago, courage is doing the thing that has to be done despite our fear. That fear can be our ally to help keep us alive, but we must never let fear be our master. If we do that, we become a slave. I believed him then, and I believe him now. Over and again I have seen his words in action, and they have been proved by many people who did not become a slave to fear, and then accomplished great selfless deeds. Deeds not for their own welfare, but for the welfare of others. That is courage. We need that kind of courage in all of us like never before.

I'm afraid before we can fix things we may have to call on that courage even more. Some of us will fail, that is to be expected. But what counts is to acknowledge it, pick ourselves back up, grit our teeth and charge forward even though we are very afraid. We can not do any less, because if we do, all the people who did the same before us, and died in the doing, died for nothing. I will not disrespect their efforts, their supreme sacrifice and love by doing less.

I think the words "I know this will never happen", struck a cord in me. It was an acceptance of the status quo. It was born of weight being great, and no relief in sight. As long as we are convinced that these things will never happen, there will be no change. There will only be more of it heaped upon the striped backs of the masses. I don't say this as a rebuke to the one who said "this will never happen". I say it as an assurance that it does not have to be. We do not have to take the whip, or the yoke. It is not fitting that any person should suffer, so that a few may live in comfort. It is not fitting that any should go hungry while others plates are filled to over flowing, and the excess is thrown into the trash. These things are insane. Some people fed their dogs well, and despise a person who asks for help. This should not be. It is disrespect of, and for humanity. It is a contempt that must no longer be tolerated.

There is a reckoning coming down the path. It is something that can be avoided too, but I'm afraid the few will hold out until the bitter end. It does not have to be. Humanity could be on the verge of truly great things. We are at the knifes edge. One way brings suffering and death. The other way brings life and greatness for us all. It is up to us to choose. It is up to the greater part of humanity to cast off the yoke of fear of death, and rise up and pay the price for a new and better future than what is being offered.

It all starts with one person. That one person is you. What will you do? How will you choose?

57th Presidential Inauguration

I would like to ask my fellow Americans to lay down politics and partisanship today. Please do not use the 57th Presidential Inauguration as platform to push our agendas.

This day is about celebrating the the installation or our 57th President. It is a celebration of our tradition of the peaceful transition of power. Let us celebrate our nations values of liberty, freedom and equality. Let us throw out bias and division this day. Let all of us stand proud and together as Citizens of the United States of America.

This day is not about anything other than celebrating our honorable system of government. Even if you don't like the person, honor the office this day of our United States Presidential Inauguration. Let us all show the world the true meaning of the word in our nation's name, that word "United".

Mr. Obama is not the Democrat's President. He is not the Republican's President. He is the President of all of the people of our great nation. Even though I, James Parks Jr., do not support all of Mr. Obama's ideas and policy, he is my President. I will honor him and the office of the President this day.

Vice President Biden, Mr. Chief Justice, Members of the United States Congress, distinguished guests, and fellow citizens:

Each time we gather to inaugurate a president, we bear witness to the enduring strength of our Constitution. We affirm the promise of our democracy. We recall that what binds this nation together is not the colors of our skin or the tenets of our faith or the origins of our names. What makes us exceptional – what makes us American – is our allegiance to an idea, articulated in a declaration made more than two centuries ago:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

Today we continue a never-ending journey, to bridge the meaning of those words with the realities of our time. For history tells us that while these truths may be self-evident, they have never been self-executing; that while freedom is a gift from God, it must be secured by His people here on Earth. The patriots of 1776 did not fight to replace the tyranny of a king with the privileges of a few or the rule of a mob. They gave to us a Republic, a government of, and by, and for the people, entrusting each generation to keep safe our founding creed.

For more than two hundred years, we have.

Through blood drawn by lash and blood drawn by sword, we learned that no union founded on the principles of liberty and equality could survive half-slave and half-free. We made ourselves anew, and vowed to move forward together.

Together, we determined that a modern economy requires railroads and highways to speed travel and commerce; schools and colleges to train our workers.

Together, we discovered that a free market only thrives when there are rules to ensure competition and fair play.

Together, we resolved that a great nation must care for the vulnerable, and protect its people from life's worst hazards and misfortune.

Through it all, we have never relinquished our skepticism of central authority, nor have we succumbed to the fiction that all society's ills can be cured through government alone. Here is an example of how self serving people try to take a bad situation, and profit from it. This is a shameful example, and should be rejected with all vigor. History has proven over and over, again and again that religion used by zealots to take power has done nothing but cause suffering. I can not stress this enough.

It is not a lack of God that is causing problems in our nation. If anything it is the persistent rhetoric and attempts to make religious doctrine state policy that has caused problem here, and all over the world. It is not the religion its self, but rather the people who use it as a tool of power.

Look at this short list of grievous offences committed in the name God that has plagued humanity. Look at it long and hard and consider that it is a short list. This doesn't even scratch the surface of the atrocities committed against peaceful people throughout history in the name of a God.

Don't be lead around by the nose like the people of Germany were by the Nazis, or any other state sanctioned injecting of religious idealism into society. THANK FOR YOUR SELF. GET THE FACTS.

 I feel the need to post this bit of information every so often because it is a nightmare come true. Every time I see that number "2053" I can hardly believe my eyes. Did you realize that is about 3.33 of these devices set off every month for over 50 years? That's darn near 1 every week! Had they gone insane?

There is no way I can justify the setting off a nuclear devise every week for 50 years, on our beautiful world, under any circumstances, let alone doing it to maintain the position of power/rich people. Don't be fooled! That is exactly why all this was done.

Powerful people, who believe themselves privileged above others, feared they would loose what they had. People here feared people over there. People over there feared people over here. With all that fear, and paranoia they must have gone insane being under all that pressure. The MAD doctrine (Mutual Assured Destruction) was well named indeed!

Then there is the damage to our ecosystem. I don't care how they try to explain it away, you can't set off 2053 nuclear devices on our planet and not cause long lasting damage! These fools have set them off in the air. They set them off under water. These bombs have been set off under ground, and even in outer space. Even the outer space explosion had to have some negative effects on our world.

How much plutonium or other deadly, toxic materials were spread throughout our environment? These things do not go away over night, but they were spread around our planet like a brides maid would spread flower peddles at a wedding. We can easily sweep up flower peddles, but not so with plutonium. That heavy metal stays around for tens of millions of years. That stuff will kill you dead if you get it on you, or in you too. It is one of the most toxic substances known to humans. Still they spread it like candy on an unsuspecting populace.

I know a measure of sanity has returned to humanity. There are serous efforts to rid ourselves of this self made demon. That measure falls woefully short! It falls short when the United States, France, Great Britten, Russia, China and other countries maintain these weapons of mass destruction. The effort to fully return our world to sanity falls very short when we have leaders who will not rest until they too have these devises in their arsenal.

Our world will remain a very dangerous place to be as long as these weapons of mass destruction exist on the face of the Earth. No country should ever be allow to have possession of these types of weapons within our planets environment.

Seriously folks, the people who have been our leaders, have made a grave error. They built them believing with all their hearts that they were doing the right thing. They believed it so sincerely they built thousands upon thousands of them. They wasted trillions of dollars, and tons of resources to build these monstrous machines. These leaders were not doing the best thing for you, me or any of us. Not in the long run at very least.

Now we have countries like Pakistan and India, both armed with nuclear devices. These guys hate each other and fight all the time over territory. They are at each other's throats even as I write this paper. If they got into a big shooting match, you can bet they would not hesitate to use their atomic weapons against each other if they got desperate.

There is also states like North Korea, who has a few of these death machines, and Iran who wants to have these devices. They want them for the same reason we wanted them. Because of fear.

This is a giant problem that is not going to go away easily, but we must make the problem go away. There are many things happening now that could conceivably drive our species to extinction. Our environment is changing, with no sign of getting better, or proactive measures to mitigate or stop the damages. Pandemics are getting more common as the years and decades pass. Super germs, made by the very antibiotics we use to cure illness, are getting more common. Lets face it. We have a lot of work to do to return to sanity and safety.

This brings up a question for me. Is it a return to sanity, or is it a casting off of primitive, baser instincts left over from our animal past? Maybe it is a question of enlightenment and evolving into a higher state of existence. A higher state of awareness and consciousnesses of our place in the universe, and with each other.

Focusing on Guns does nothing for the Real Problem

First of all, let me preface this by telling you that I am a gun owner and I do not want anyone to take away my right to own a gun so that you don't think that I'm just some crazy, left wing, liberal wacko who doesn't have a clue as to what's "really going on in the world".

It amazes me how ever since the elementary school shooting last month everyone is raving constantly about the right to own a gun and gun control, yet very few people on here talk about the DESPERATE need for a better system to help those with mental illness. So many families struggle daily with trying to find help for their kids yet find almost nothing. Often, they are only given the choice of having their child put in prison. What kind of choice is that? What does that say about our society? The only people who benefit from this OBSESSION with guns are the gun and ammo makers! Prices are up and sales are through the roof. Yet no one makes any profit from helping the mentally ill, except maybe pharmaceutical companies, but tax payers are not willing to foot the bill for better mental health care facilities even though we don't bat an eye at the enormous amount of money we pay companies to run prisons and make a profit from it.

It's time we stop raving about guns and start raving about what is being done about the real reason those children died; a mentally ill boy who was not being properly treated for his ILLNESS.

Spin Doctors, Zombies, Lies and the President

I've seen posts on Facebook, and all over the web that our President lied to the American people about the Benghazi attack. They mainly focus on the timing of what he said.

I must say this blame game is getting rather silly. We all know when something bad happens anywhere in the world, there are groups going to claim responsibility. Some times the real perpetrators claim it right away. Sometimes fakers claim the dirty deed right away. It is always a mission of gathering information, sorting out the garbage from the gold, then taking action on the truth we find.

The President only has the information given to him by his underlings. He has none of it until they give to him. Then people, who's wish is only to undermine the Presidency, start to work. The President has to be very careful about what he says because there are people who will take apart, word by word, everything our President says. These people don't really care about the truth. They only care how their wordsmiths can hammer out a sensational story, using the words of the President, without regard for how mangled the words and/or the truth become. They don't care because there are people who will swallow their spin no matter how ridiculous or silly it is.

These spin (witch)-doctors have a portion of the American people under their power like zombies. They tell their zombies to go this way, and they go. They tell them to go that way, and they go. They go this way and that without thinking for themselves. Just like a bunch of mindless zombies. Snap out of it.

It is not the President, and the timing of his words, that are the problem. It is the misguided zombies of hi-jacked religion, the power hungry, the hateful and vindictive who do these acts of violence that are the problem.

If the spin (witch)-doctors here would stop doing the violent masters of zombies over there service by misdirecting our zombies attention away from the real problem, maybe we could better get a handle on this zombie problem, on both sides.

Quit being a zombie of spin (witch)-doctors on the radio, TV, newspapers or who ever your master is. Think for yourself, quit being a thrall and blame the real masters of hate. The people who do the attacking in the first place. Blaming the President for that is counterproductive for us, and very productive for them masters of hate, because we are divided.

This is exactly the kind of crap that gets my blood boiling. How dare they disrespect the American people by such an abuse of the trust we put in them.

We did not vote for any of them with the idea that they should be treated like royalty while our nation racks up $16 trillion in public dept. I mean really, who in the hell do they think they are? What the f*** do they think they are doing?

They do this kind of crap to the American tax payer, and then cry and say Social Security is bankrupting our nation? Come on my fellow Americans and open your eyes. We have till 2016 to make a choice. We need to git rid of all these jerks who are living high on the hog at our expense. We need to send a message to Washington DC by sacking every last one of the spendthrifts.

PETA just has to go over the deep end every time. Extremism is never the best option. What about subsistence hunters. There are many people that depend on hunting to feed their families. Shall we disallow them this most basic of human rights?

Indeed the senseless slaughter of animals isn't good, but nether is denying our place in nature. Humans are predators, and do eat meat. There is nothing inherently wrong with that. It is just being human.

Saying it is evil for a human kill an animal for food, is the very same as saying it is evil for any other animal to do the same.

What if a homeless person who was hungry decided to take matters into their own hands. What if they killed a dove with a stone, cooked it and ate it. Shall we call that person evil, or heartless? Maybe we should call heartless a society that on one end shouts disapproval of a hungry person asking help, then the other end shouts disapproval if they were to help themselves by killing an animal for food.

PETA and other organizations like them are not doing our human society any good because of their radical position on things. Don't let these people use reactionary tactics like this on you. Get the facts and think for your self. Don't be a puppet of self serving organizations like PETA.

The Case for a Universal 24 Hour Clock

Do time zones bug you? They bug me. I believe time zones are an archaic system who's time has passed. In fact, I believe we should scrap the 12 hour clock, and time zones Humanity needs to institute a world wide, universal 24 hour clock.

 

Time zones were instituted, with much confusion, because of railroad and shipping concerns. Before the 19th Century many cities around the world historically kept their own time by using some type of instrument to observe the sun’s zenith at noon.[1] American railroads maintained many different time zones during the late 1800's. Each train station set its own clock so it was difficult to coordinate train schedules.[1] Operators of the new railroad lines needed a new time plan that would offer a uniform train schedule for departures and arrivals. Four standard time zones for the continental United States were introduced on November 18, 1883.[1]

Many countries adopted hourly time zones by the late 1920's. Many nations today use standard time zones but some places adopt half-hour deviations from standard time or use quarter hour deviations. Moreover, countries such as China use a single time zone even though their territory extends beyond the 15 degrees of longitude.[1]

Standard time, in terms of time zones, was not established in United States law until the Act of March 19, 1918, sometimes called the Standard Time Act. The act also established daylight saving time in the nation. Daylight saving time was repealed in 1919, but standard time in time zones remained in law, with the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) having the authority over time zone boundaries.[1]

In the 21st Century, with our global trade, instant world wide communications and ever increasing space travel, we need to adopt a system for this new age. That system is a world wide 24 hour clock.

When I look at a clock, say the one on my computer screen, it should display the same time as any other computer or time piece anywhere in the world. If it is 2:00 o'clock on the Greenwich Meridian, it should be 2:00 o'clock every else as well. If the time is 17:00 o'clock in New York city, it is 17:00 o'clock in Hong Kong too! This would cut out all confusion in commerce and people's daily lives.

How many times have you seen a notice telling you some event will be televised at 5:00 o'clock eastern time, and had to do a quick little math problem in your head to convert it to the time zone you live in. If you didn't live in the eastern time zone, you had to do a conversion. Of what use is that in a global society of the 21st century?

The only argument against this idea I've heard so far is that it would seem weird for it to be 2:00 o'clock somewhere and the sun is shining, or not shining. I've heard it both ways. Even that argument is a confusion.

Make the world a more efficient, less confusing place by instituting a world wide universal 24 hour clock. This will save everyone a lot of money, eliminate confusion over time zones, increase travel safety, and get rid of another headache for humanity.

Today is the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., a man who in my opinion was one of the greatest advocates of freedom and liberty who has ever walked the face of the Earth.

His longing for and peaceful work towards freedom transformed our nation. He helped banish the hypocrisy that existed between the words of our founding fathers and our actions as a nation. He inspired a generation and helped usher in a new era of freedom for all of us, without regard for race.

Then, by the hand of dark forces his life was taken, but they could not the take the new found life he gave all of us. He did it with a weapon more powerful than any weapon man can craft. His weapon was a human trait we are all born with, love.

I listened to his speech "I have a dream", and read the words and wished he was here today so he could further inspire us. Then I thought of how timeless and true his profound speech was. So I began to wonder if it could be used today, but in regards to all human kind, and I find yes indeed it can.

I have borrowed his landmark words. I have modified them a little to match our situation in this 21st century. I have tinkered with them so that they refer to all the peoples of the Earth. I hope Dr. King would be happy with what I've done. It is not done with a desire to disrespect, or to downplay, or to trivialize his wisdom. It is done with the deepest respect, in hopes that we can pick up where this great man left off.

If you think this thing is a good thing, that Dr. King would approve of it, please share it so that all people everywhere may rise up out of the despair or injustice like our brothers and sisters here in America have done.

I sure do wish Dr. King was here to help guide us. He was taken from us, when the task was unfinished. The task will not be finished until every human can enjoy equally in our planet's bounty and liberty.

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our world.

Seven score and 10 years ago, a great American, Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Black slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity.

But one hundred 50 years later, we must face the tragic fact that all people are still not free. One hundred 50 years later, the life of many people is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred 50 years later, people still live on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred 50 years later, people are still languishing in the corners of human society and find themselves an exile in their own land. So we have come today to realize and protest this appalling condition.

In a sense we have come to our various nation's capitals to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This does not end at America's borders. It was as a pebble tossed into a vast sea of injustice, growing into a tsunami of enlightenment that has reached out to all corners of the Earth.

It is obvious today that America and the whole world has defaulted on these promissory notes insofar as the citizens of our world are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, nations have given the people a bad check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of our world. So we have come to cash this check -- a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed time to remind the nations of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation and injustice to the sunlit path of racial, religious and economic justice. Now is the time to open the doors of opportunity to all of the world's children. Now is the time to lift our world from the quicksands of racial, religious and economic injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.

It would be fatal for the nations of Earth to overlook the urgency of the moment and to underestimate the determination of the people. This sweltering summer of the people's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Two thousand thirteen is not an end, but a beginning.

and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the human community must not lead us into distrust of all different people, for many of our brothers and sisters of different races and religions, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police state brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.

Go back to your homes in America, go back to Syria, go back to China, go back to Iran, go back to the slums and ghettos of our giant cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.

I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day our species will rise up and live out the true meaning of this creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal."

Here we go! Some of our fellow humans are at it once more. These guys have been fighting over this territory for a long time, and now it is heating up again. This is exactly what I'm talking about when I say we must find a way to peaceful solutions.

"He (Army Chief General Bikram Singh) said India reserved the right to retaliate against provocative acts on the border at a time and place of its choosing."

They do not have that right if it means Shiva (nuclear conflict) is unloosed upon the world. This is my world, and your world. They have no rights to mess it up under any circumstances. None of us do.

Pakistan and India better keep their nuclear weapons in the warehouse  Their actions have global implications, and we can not allow these power mad people to use them. It is already bad enough they kill each other with regular weapons without spreading their poison all over the planet. That goes for all you other nations too, including the United States.

Everyone who wants peace on the planet needs to walk away from this madness  We must not allow the few, who think they have a right to foul up our world, to prevail. We must do what ever it takes to stop them. If we fail, it will be only a matter of time until the poison mushrooms start to sprout. Their poison will not only kill them, it will kill us too! All of us!

Crap like what is going on there, and in other places, is the reason The Wild Party calls on all humanity to say, ENOUGH.

A New Beginning for Humanity

Our world is in trouble. It is getting worse as the years go by. We must stop this head long rush into oblivion.

Clearly it is greed and power seeking that has caused our present situation. This alone prevents our return to peace for our homes, and beloved families. It is this misguided lust for power among men that has caused injury, destruction and endless suffering.

Why am I choosing this time to remind us of these terrible things. I remind you of these brutal acts, ladies and gentlemen because we must learn to forgive our enemies. We do not forgive lightly or out of ignorance. But because we are a strong and willing people. We can not blame the power mongers for this inexplicable lust for war. They have never known another way of life. It is their only means for survival. Nor can we condemn the individuals of the societies for the mass insanity of our war machine. Instead we must look to our good nature.

Some have made a request to stop the fighting, and I believe it is a genuine request, and we must respond with equal integrity. Their blood is the same as our blood, and there is no reason we can not live in peace.

I know there are those who have lost loved ones during war, and can not help but to have ill feelings towards the others. But some how we must overcome these feelings. We must stop this senseless destruction. If we fail to do this, it will mean the end of our civilization.

Each of us must develop a responsible attitude toward the prospect of peace. We must learn from our mistakes. To live with different people, different nations. Think of the challenge. I am not proposing laying down our arms, but extending them in friendship. So if there is a chance of a peaceful solution, we can find it together.

The people of Earth are a strong and intelligent species. Therefore, let this day stand as a symbol of our approval of peace.

It's time to do more than just talk. We must act. Make friends of everyone, no matter the culture. Then we as brothers and sisters will refuse to take up arms against one another. Let the calls for war by the few power hungry among us fall on deaf ears. Let their words of hate pass away forever, and never be heard again.

It took me a few minutes to wrap my mind around this statement;

"Until today I have not seen a single incident or example of rape with a respected lady," Manohar Lal Sharma said, according to the Bloomberg report. "Even an underworld don would not like to touch a girl with respect."

I am interpreting this to mean that they would have only touched a woman who has no respect, and that is ok.

"Guilt is not one-sided," Indian spiritual leader Asaram Bapu, told followers earlier in the week, adding that if the woman had pleaded with her six attackers in God's name, and told them she was of the "weaker sex," they would have relented, Reuters reported."

Because she did not plead with her attackers "in God's name" to stop, that makes it ok to continue the attack?

"Mohan Bhagwat, a conservative pro-Hindu politician, weighed in with his view that rape occurs only in Indian cities, because women there adopt western lifestyles, but not in rural India."

If a woman wears western style clothing it is ok to rape them?

That is the message I'm getting from the statements made there. Is that a correct interpretation? Because if it is, I also am outraged, disgusted and ashamed that my fellow male humans there would have and hold such barbaric ideals. Do they also believe that it is ok to steal, extort, deprive, mock, murder or in any other way to lay waste the person of a lower cast?

There is no circumstances or behavior made by any human that warrants attacks like this. Manohar Lal Sharma, and the other degenerates that hold such ideas are mental cases. They must be mental cases, because no one in their right mind could condone such acts. Only a crazy person is capable of twisting truth and morals around like that to justify their actions, and believe they are right.

A pro-Hindu politician also throws his hat in the ring condoning such action too. That really disappoints me. I thought Hindus were supposed to be seeking enlightenment. It looks like I was very wrong about that. I hope it is only a small segment of Hindus that would stand by such an outrageous idea.

Those morons who hold onto stupid ideas like they do are lower by far than any person they look down their noses at. They are worse than scum. They represent the worst of humanity. People like them need to be eliminated from the face of the Earth.

I feel like I'm living in a bad sci-fi movie. The worst part of the whole mess is that it has become accepted. Our scientists, industry and governments have quit trying to stop the impending doom. Now they prepare to only cope with the effects of global warming.

Yes indeed, the mad scientists are coming out now. While the governments of the world tip their hats, with a nod and a wink, to big oil, auto manufacturers, coal interests and other destroyers of the environment, they are now crying foul when someone tries to fix the problem. Anyone trying to fix the global problem "has stalled out due to concerns about unintended consequences". In my way of thinking that is some backwards thinking to the extreme.

These idiots sit there wringing their hands, paralyzed into inaction by "unintended consequences" while the consequences of inaction are pounding down the door! They are worrying about someone taking action on their own to fix things, while oil companies drool over the possibility of Arctic oil made accessible by the retreating ice cap.

Wake up world and shout out! Bring an end to this madness.

Good for AIG, sort of. If there had not been such public disgust at the behavior of AIG, you can bet your last dollar they would have pursued that unsavory action with vigor.

All this tells me one thing, and it is a powerful thing. These dirty thieves will bow to public pressure when they believe their bottom line is threatened. That is the only thing they understand or care about, the bottom line. They didn't back out because they care about you and me, or what we thought, or even because it was the right thing to do. They backed out because they thought they would loose more money than they stood to gain.

Now we have the ungrateful Hank Greenberg, and his company Starr International to contend with. I would advise anyone who has dealings with these crooks to divest themselves of all holdings in Star International, NOW. They are trying to go on a feeding frenzy with our tax money. They don't give a damn about our nation at all. They don't care if we are trying to erase a $16 trillion dept. They only want to get fat at our expense. I doubt they even care if the United States of America survives.

Pretty strong words you bet, but they haven't proven otherwise. If our nation collapsed, the fat cats in the ivory towers of Star International would still be there. So why would they care? If they cared one damn bit about our nation, they would be forgiving debts and more. Our founding fathers pledged their lives and fortunes to build this great nation. Not Star International, and the ones like them. We know where their loyalties lay. It lays with their perception of their own power. They are loyal only to themselves.

You think I'm wrong, Star International. Even your name gives away your loyalties.

Prove me wrong Star International, or even better yet, Hank Greenberg. Even if it was on your dying bed, uttered with your last words, prove that your loyalties lay with the people of the United States of America. I doubt you can do it.

I wouldn't want to be Hank Greenberg. When he passes from this world a lot of people are going to be glad. There is still time. Turn this around, and when you pass maybe people will remember you for doing good things, instead of blaming you for being a pariah.

Time to put on the heat with these traitorous, greedy people. Next time let them fall. No more bail-outs. Then they can feel the heat of the stock holders suing them over mismanaged accounts.


Addressing the Legalization of Marijuana

I signed a petition to the White House addressing the legalization of marijuana. It got enough signatures to get attention. Below you will find the text of a letter they sent to me. It is from Gil Kerlikowske, Director of the Office of National Drug Control Polic, and has words spoken by President Obama to Barbara Walters in an interview.

Thank you for participating in We the People and speaking out on the legalization of marijuana. Coming out of the recent election, it is clear that we're in the midst of a serious national conversation about marijuana.

At President Obama's request, the Justice Department is reviewing the legalization initiatives passed in Colorado and Washington, given differences between state and federal law. In the meantime, please see a recent interview with Barbara Walters in which President Obama addressed the legalization of marijuana:

Do you think that marijuana should be legalized?

President Obama: 

Well, I wouldn't go that far. But what I think is that, at this point, Washington and Colorado, you've seen the voters speak on this issue. And as it is, the federal government has a lot to do when it comes to criminal prosecutions. It does not make sense from a prioritization point of view for us to focus on recreational drug users in a state that has already said that under state law that's legal.

…this is a tough problem because Congress has not yet changed the law. I head up the executive branch; we're supposed to be carrying out laws. And so what we're going to need to have is a conversation about how do you reconcile a federal law that still says marijuana is a federal offense and state laws that say that it's legal.

When you're talking about drug kingpins, folks involved with violence, people are who are peddling hard drugs to our kids in our neighborhoods that are devastated, there is no doubt that we need to go after those folks hard… it makes sense for us to look at how we can make sure that our kids are discouraged from using drugs and engaging in substance abuse generally. There is more work we can do on the public health side and the treatment side.

Well of course he wouldn't go that far. One can't stand firm on any position when trying to pander to both sides of the issue. Mr. President, get some nads!

The President says "It does not make sense from a prioritization point of view" because state law says it is legal. That is so very true, but what is truer is that it don't make sense from a "prioritization point of view", because we have a $16 trillion dept! Because we have people getting killed by drug lords over this innocuous plant. It don't make sense because it is a violation of our rights to call it illegal against the wishes of the people. We want to dispense with the nanny state.

The President says, "conversation about how do you reconcile a federal law that still says marijuana is a federal offense and state laws that say that it's legal". I'll tell you how to reconcile that right now. Pass a bill in Congress that takes Marijuana off the schedule 1 list and legalizes it for all Americans over the age of 18. What's so hard about that?

I'll tell you one thing hard about it. No political will. No guts. The executive branch is supposed to carry out the law. The executive branch also signs the bills passed by congress. So pass that bill and sign the damn thing. Reconciliation over.

Then in the last paragraph Mr. Obama insults our intelligence by trying to put marijuana in the same basket as hard drugs! We aren't buying it any longer. We are wise to all that double talk. The only reason marijuana is in the hands of drug kingpins is because the government put it there, just like they did with alcohol during prohibition.


Look, we don't have to pass an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to get marijuana out of the hands of drug lords, like we had to do when alcohol prohibition was repealed.

I would say our President scores a big fat fail on this one.

AIG may join bailout lawsuit against U.S. government

AIG is a bunch of crooks. All insurance companies are run by dens of thieves. After the people of the United States bailed AIG out, now they are crying foul and want to sue us. We saved their ass from going bankrupt, now they are being very ungrateful.

We the people handed AIG $182 billion in bailout money, and saved them from bankruptcy. Now they have teamed up in a law suit claiming that the terms of the bailout package were to harsh.

"If AIG enters this suit it would be the equivalent of a patient suing their doctor for saving their life," said Mark Williams, a former Federal Reserve bank examiner.

"AIG needs to look at only itself as a company that recklessly engaged in excessive risk taking. Government action gave AIG a second life," Williams said.

I'm getting very tired of giant corporations looking at the federal government coffers as a thing to be raided. Instead of bailing them out, we perhaps should have nationalized them. Or Maybe we should have let them go bankrupt. Oh wait! I forgot that they are to big to fail. They are not to big to fail the people of America.

I applaud the federal judge in Manhattan who dismissed Greenberg's suit in November; it is being appealed. Our government should throw out any lawsuits protesting the bailout terms after they already signed on and agreed.

How much tax money will all these frivolous lawsuits cost the American tax payer when all is said and done? We will have to wait and see. You can be assured it is tax money we can ill afford to waste on greedy insurance ingrates.

Change the way the Speaker of the House is chosen, and require the Speaker to be non-partisan.

It now has become plain to see that the office of the Speaker of the House welds to much power over the process. This situation has contributed mightily to the gridlock we are plagued with in Congress. The Speakers present roll has damaged our nation far to long.

It has become apparent that the roll of the Speaker of the House must be non-partisan. The Speaker of the House must not be chosen from the pool of Congress. The Speaker of the House shall be appointed by the Supreme Court of the United States, by a majority vote from the members of that court. The Speaker must remain strictly non-partisan, and must renounce, by oath, all affiliation with his or her former political party when taking office. The Speaker shall not take part in debate nor vote.

Please help to end the gridlock in Congress by signing this petition.

I am so disappointed in the process. Boehner won Speaker of the House. Booo! Hisss! Now we can look forward to the GOP walking in lock step to the dictator Boehner, and not getting anything done for the next four years.

Also in March, we are going to have another fight between the parties about the budget. Boehner being reelected as Speaker is not a good thing for America.

I am now of the opinion that the way the Speaker of the House is chosen is flawed, and that the Speaker of the House welds to much power.

"The Constitution does not require that the speaker be an elected Member of Congress, but no non-member has ever been elected to the office.

Unlike some Westminster system parliaments, in which the office of speaker is considered non-partisan, in the United States the speakership of the House is a leadership position in the majority party and the office-holder actively works to set that party's legislative agenda; the office is therefore endowed with considerable political power. Our nation needs to amend the Constitution to require the Speaker of the House to be selected from a source other than members of the house. Our Constitution must have a Speaker that is non-partisan. Then we will be able to avoid the grid lock that infects our Congress today, and never again causes the United Stated and her people to suffer the effects of a government brought to her knees by infighting.

Here is news of a Congress who don't give a damn about what the people want. Unloved for so long, Congress not fazed by public's disapproval

I said that I wouldn't vote for anyone who is an incumbent in the next election because Congress is broken, and they all need to be sacked. That I wouldn't vote for any of them no matter their record, just to make sure all of the bad ones are out. Here is a prime example of why I feel the way I do about Congress.

"Some 90 percent of lawmakers who ran for re-election in 2012 will be coming right back to Capitol Hill for the 113th Congress. 
"Nobody ever votes on Congress as a whole, they vote on individual members," says Jack Pitney, professor at Claremont McKenna College in California. "The message that most lawmakers give their constituents is 'I'm great, it's these other bozos who are the problem.'"
For the most part, that pitch works."

This attitude of immunity must be reined in. The American People need to punish the Congress by replacing all of them. Then, and only then will they take us seriously.

Why should they believe us or give our opinion and wishes any credence if we vote in all the same people 90% of the time. Don't let that pitch "I'm great, it's these other bozos who are the problem." work any more. It is plane to see that all of them are the problem, and they are all bozos.

If we, the people of America, want a government that works, we have to take back control and prove we mean what we say by sacking every last one of them.

Again I say, I will not vote for an incumbent next election unless I see real improvement in Congress. You know what? To hell with the "unless" part. They have proven themselves over and again to be in need or replacement. I will not vote for any incumbent no matter what they do now. All of them must go. Then see how "unfazed" they are when the people speak.

The Seven Things You Need to Know About the Tax Deal

I have to tell you, if our servants (elected officials) want me to be proud of them, or glad about this, they are very mistaken. All they managed to do was pass the buck to the next Congress. If any of them believe any citizen is happy about political brinkmanship, they are very mistaken about that too!

I don't want them to hold out till the very last second to pass legislation, while they try to wrangle a deal that a majority of the American public doesn't want. I believe the people spoke loud and clear about that when President Obama was elected for a second term. All the things the GOP are trying to push down our throats are the same things Romney campaigned on, and lost on. Now the GOP has the gall to try to push those very same rejected ideas anyway.

I think the people have spoken, but I'll say it again because they must not be hearing us. YOU ELECTED OFFICIALS BETTER START COOPERATING AND GET SOME WORK DONE. YOU GUYS ON THE HILL ARE GIVING THE REST OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE A BAD NAME AROUND THE WORLD.

I guarantee, I'm not going to forget all this. Come next election, if they don't show some real improvement, I will not vote for one single incumbent. I don't care who they are, or even if they did pretty good. I'll not vote for any of them just to make damn sure I'm helping to get them all out. It may be necessary to throw out the baby with the bath water this time, because it is becoming to hard to tell the baby from the bath water.

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of our servants (elected officials) treating us like we are their servants.

We've been through one hell of a year, and about to start another one. I found some words that seem to go well here and for our times.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember to spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

And always remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by those moments that take our breath away.

Bill targets 'abusive' gift card fees

I support this bill!

Check out this quote from the article. I think it is the dialog of a con-artist. Gift cards are not the same as coupons. The consumer has to buy the gift card. So I interpret what she is saying as, she wants the consumer to pay for their promotion, and bare the cost if it fails.

"Expiration dates are needed on promotional gift cards, she insisted, because like coupons they encourage consumers to visit a store or restaurant during a specific sales period.
“Forcing promotional cards to have no expiration date would undermine the usefulness of such cards for promotional purposes,” she wrote."

There is a simple way to avoid the hidden fees of gift cards. Give cash. People seldom complain about receiving cash, and there is no expiration date.

I know a lot of people are fearful about this, but please don't be. We have been lied to for far to long about all this. It is the 21st century now. It should be a time of reason and working with logic and truth.

Please watch this video, and reconsider your position if you are opposed. There is nothing wrong in abandoning a weak position in favor of the truth. Just promote marijuana's legalization. That would cure a bunch of ills. I don't have to tell you again all the reasons, because it has been said over and again.

Thanks for using reason and logic instead of letting fear rule you. You do know that people will use fear to control your thoughts and actions, don't you? Just don't let them. Think for yourself using the best research available to you. Don't be a puppet.

What a load of crap! They actually put Islam as the religion of the state, and are instituting Sharia law. They actually have the gall to put it into their constitution! Have they learned nothing?

There will be more civil strife in Egypt. As long as the leadership in Egypt insists on mixing religion with politics, there will be trouble.
