  Social Anxiety or Social Phobia is a source of huge anxiety to many people.  Many sufferers tell me that It is not understood as well as it might be by medical professionals and that treatment can be experienced as ineffective and often lengthy and expensive.

For those who are too far away from me to see me personally I do work with people over the telephone and online, and you will benefit greatly from this.  If you prefer to see someone face to face though, then I will shortly be providing information on specialists in your area.  Please feel free to e-mail me if you work in this area or if you want some advice on choosing a counsellor or therapist. 
Ensure firstly that you select someone with extensive experience of working with sufferers of Social Phobia or Anxiety.  Choose someone who has professional qualifications that require them to work with a code of ethics, and who has an understanding of a solution focussed therapy such as CBT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming.  Ask the Counsellor if you can speak to any former clients of theirs, if they have been successful in changing the life of a person with social phobia, that person will be more than happy to talk about this and provide you with a reference.  Expect some positive results within the first few sessions.
