Gothic Angel

I am using the fabulous artwork of Elias Chatzoudis. To use his art you must purchase a license at MPT HERE. The mask I used is by WeeScotsLass (# 60) and can be found HERE. The candle tube is by Voodoo, the template is by me and both are in my supplies HERE.

Plug ins used: Cybia Screenworks and Eyecandy4000 (fire)

Let's get started!

Open my template in PSP and delete the credit layer. Floodfill the background layer with white. Click inside the empty center portion of the template with your magic wand tool. Selections-modify-expand by 6. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with a gold gradient. Do not de-select. Apply Cybia Screenworks with the lace screen setting as shown below:

Copy and paste the gothic angel wordfill in my supplies over the selection. Selections-invert-hit delete on the keyboard. Bring the word fill under the frame.

Click inside the the black part of the inner frame with your magic wand. Selections-modify-smooth by 5. Add a new raster layer. Make a gradient with two colors from your tube. I used black and #a28e4d. You do this by making your background/fill properties on your material pallette the color black. Make your foreground/stroke color #a28e4d. Then double click on the foreground/stroke color and find the gradient tab. Look for the gradient titled foreground/background and flood fill with it.

Apply cybia screenworks point array as shown below:

Do the same process with the outer black part of the template and apply the point array to that also.

Now click inside the transparent center area of the template with your magic wand. Selections-modify-expand by 6. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with the gold gradient. Apply Cybia screenworks double pack as shown below:

Click inside the doodles part of the template with your magic wand, add a new raster layer and floodfil with the gradient you had made before. Add a light blinds effect to them if desired. Effects-texture effects-blinds.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Add a drop shadow to all pieces of the tag. I used 3/3/45/5 black.

Activate the white background layer. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with the gradient you made earlier. Apply WSL_Mask 60 to the layer and merge the group.

Resize the candle tube 50% and copy and paste as a new layer. Place at the right side of the tag.

Crop and resize your tag. Add your copyright info, your watermark and your name. The font I used for my name is called CharadeJF.

Take your selection tool and make a small selection below the flame that is on the tube. See below for reference:

Animation: the candle flame Eyecandy 4000 fire

In PSP apply eyecandy 4000 fire with the following settings:

Select none and copy the tag merged into animation shop and paste it as a new animation.

Back to PSP undo select none and fire and reapply it again but hit the random seed button. Copy the tag merged into animation shop and paste it after the current frame.

Repeat this process again so you have 3 frames in animation shop. Run the animation and save the tag as a gif!

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!
