April Showers

I am using the adorable artwork of Suzanne Woolcott purchased with a license from Artistic Minds, Inc. Suzanne is no longer with AMI and to use her art you must purchase a license at gorjuss art HERE. The kit I used is a fabulous freebie called April Showers by Bluedream Designs. You can pick up this kit HERE. Mask is by WeeScottLass and you can get it HERE. Birdhouse, birdbath, blue daisies and pink flowers are by Rainbow Coffi. To see more of her art you can visit PSP-Playground HERE. Bird animations are from Peachies Collection, Rainbow Coffi tubes are both in my supplies HERE.

Plug in used: Vanderlee Snowflakes

Let's Get Started!

Open an new image 600 X 600 and floodfill with white. Resize frame1 80% and copy and paste as a new layer. Click inside the frame with your magice wand. Selections-modify-expand by 4. Copy and paste paper 6 over the selection. I colorized the paper to match the frame a bit. I used H:145 S: 188. Selections-invert-hit delete on the keyboard. Bring the paper layer under the frame.

Activate the white background layer and copy and paste paper 6 as a new layer. Apply WSL_Mask 179 to the paper. Layers-load/save Mask-Load mask from disk. Merge the group.

Resize the fence 60% and copy and paste as a new layer. Place towards the bottom of the frame. Use the raster deform tool to stretch it to the edge of the frame. Resize the blue daisies in my supplies 60% and place them behind the fence. Duplicate and mirror them. Copy one of the hollyhocks flowers and paste as a new layer. Place on the left side of the frame. Duplicate it and mirror. Resize birdhouse of choice 35% and copy and paste as a new layer. Place behind the fence. Resize the bird bath 40% and place in front of the fence.

Resize the cloud 30% and copy and paste as a new layer. Duplicate it and place to your preference. See my tag for reference.

Add your main tube. My tube came with the puddle so I put it at her feet and duplicated and mirrored the puddle.

Resize the ribbon 80% and copy and paste as a new layer across the top of your tag.

Resize the doodle 80% and place over the mask layer. See posistioning on my tag. Duplicate the doodle. Mirror it and flip.

Add a few flowers from the kit and place them on each side of the tag, and any other elements of choice.

Add a drop shadow to all the pieces of the tag. I used 2/2/50/5

Crop and resize your tag, and add your copyright info, your watermark and your name.

I used a font called Byington which came installed on my computer for my name and added a fat gradient glow to it.

Ok now for the animation!

Activate the paper layer in your frame. Take your freehand selection tool (lasso) and draw a circle through the frame (roughly).

Add a new raster layer

Apply Vanderlee Snowflakes with the following settings:

Now go to Adjust-blur-motion blur and apply with these settings:

 Select none.

Copy your tag merged into animation shop and paste it as a new animation

Back to PSP

Undo the select none, the motion blur and the snowflakes. Reapply but change the random seed on the snowflakes. Use the same motion blur setting.

Copy the tag merged into animation shop and paste it after current frame.

Do this process once more so you have a total of 3 frames for your animation.

Open the bird animations in psp. Edit-select all- edit-copy Activate the tag.

Edit-select all-edit paste into selected frame for both the birds. Put one on the birdhouse peg and one in the bird bath.

Run your animation and save the tag as a gif!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
