Welcome! The LBC is a living history club that was founded in 1986, 40 years ago! We've been reenacting the fur trade era (1640-1840) ever since! Based in western NY, we've got members from all over the northeast.
We host a few different annual events each year, our main "Rendezvous" (the WAJ) is normally the first full weekend of June with a visitor day (open to public) on the Saturday of the event! see our upcoming events page for more details!
What do we do? As a club our goal is to accurately portray and teach the history of our past and what living in the time period was like.
How can you get involved? If your new to Living history (aka, Greenhorn) we encourage you to come to our visitors day on the Saturday of our WAJ event! no requirements just walk in and be respectful of campers! ask questions, take pictures, there's always someone willing to talk about what we do and how you can get started! (sometimes for maybe a bit too long....)
If you're a "seasoned" reenactor we'll see you at rendezvous! See our upcoming events page for our next camp!
For info about becoming a prospective member please see our contact page for our club email to start the conversation!

A bit of our history!
From Club historian Steve Gates
Little Beard Club
LBC reenactment time period is 1640 – 1840 known as the fur trading time of our history. So you can be a French voyager out of Montreal, trapping the Adirondack Mountains in the 1600s to the Jeremiah Johnson of the Rocky Mountains.
LBC is an offshoot of the York Sportsman club. In 1986 there was quite a few members that shot side lock black powder guns. In October of 1986 we had our first Black powder shoot (York Mountain Man Shoot – Little Beard). Within 2 years most members were doing the primitive part of black powder.
Our first meeting was at Steell Fullers house in Fowlerville (1987). The 1st WAJ(What about Joey) Rendezvous was in June of 1987. Steel Fuller ran and won Booshway for the 15th Eastern Rendezvous in 1991. Little Beard Club was the host club. Bill Decker ran & won the 1995 Eastern Rendezvous & LBC was again the host club. After that being an LBC was something to be proud of.
