Mrs. L, as she is often called, LOVES teaching, reading and playing with language. She is a native* of the great state of Texas, where she spent 10 years working for Round Rock Independent School District, just north of Austin. During her time with RRISD she sometimes taught English Language Arts, sometimes taught Social Studies, and sometimes taught both! She worked with students with special learning needs, students who were identified as being gifted, and students who were new to the English language. She loved every minute of it!

While she misses her co-workers and the community of Round Rock, she is terribly excited to be in Bogota, Colombia with her husband and small daughter. She is honored to be a part of the amazing work being done at Colegio Nueva Granada.

Mrs. Lichtenauer is a graduate of the University of Texas, at Austin. Her degree is in Applied Learning and Development with a minor in English. She also has a Masters in Educational Leadership from Texas State University.

*Though she was not actually born in Texas, the state legislature approved a petition and ratified a resolution stating that, "in spite of the unfortunate circumstances of her birth, which occurred in Oklahoma through no fault of her own," Mrs. Lichtenauer was to be granted Native Texan status.
