General Educational Development Test

The GED
testing program is the only high school equivalency credential recognized by all 50 states. When you pass the test, you open doors to new possibilities. Everyone deserves a     chance to have a job they enjoy and the education they want.

The GED test is for adults who do not have a high school diploma.  Those who pass the test receive a California High School Equivalency Certificate.

In California, you must be at least seventeen years and ten months old to take the GED.

The GED test covers five subjects: reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

LEAP students can qualify to have their GED fees covered by LEAP.

Starting January 2014 all GED tests will be given on computers and test takers must have basic computer literacy to pass.  LEAP offers several computer literacy programs
