Group: News media - Our focus is on analyzing feature articles. Results: Discussed the shutdown. Last week, we decided to write our federal congressmen. The government reopened during the past week. Based on 8 (for), 7 (against), and 1 (abstained), we determined that we would pursue the letter writing. First, we need to gather information about what the issues were and where our legislators stand on these issues. We also need to learn how to judge the quality of the resources we use. Step 1: Deb put up paper on walls with labels for 2 senators, 4 representatives, and Obama.

Results: Did activity on page 62-63 -- wrote 3 personality traits (or characteristics) that we like about the people we think have high self-esteem. Wrote 3 characteristics about ourselves that we like and 3 more we want. Talked about intellectual risks.
