M 10/12: Closed Columbus Day.
T 10/13: How do you work through a story problem? Check out the pdf below.
Later, we'll read and discuss the legend of The Sword and the Stone. Discussing vocabulary and building comprehension skills. [No night class tonight. We close today at 4PM.]
W 10/14: We'll discuss a poem by Thomas Hardy "A Broken Appointment" What do you predict it is about? We'll finish reading and discussing the blog entry about "15 reasons I think you should blog." In the afternoon, after you read and share something about the book you are reading, we'll discuss another page from Getting Unstuck.
R 10/15: We are taking a detour from our electronic exploration with potatoes for a lesson on nutrition about "What's on my plate." At 11AM, the group will review compound sentence structures. The afternoon group will explore legends (specifically about King Arthur) and how people's actions and words represent characteristics. [No night class tonight. We close today at 4PM.]
F 10/16: We'll begin the morning continue with our exploration of ways to be more organized, a brief look at causes of procrastination, and a summary of what's involved in making daily decisions. The afternoon group is reading Robinson Crusoe. The writing group will be working on their next pieces for publication.
