Solar system – Review terms from memory: solar system, planets, dwarf planets, moons, asteroids, comets, meteoroids, meteors, meteorites. Discuss two theories: earth-centered & sun-centered. In pairs, search to find out who Ptolemy & Copernicus are. Report to group who was responsible for which theory. Results: Did all of the above. Started at 10:45am. The partners worked excitedly until noon searching web sites for answers.

Group: Supreme Court Landmark Case – case #3 -- Gibson v. Ogden (1824) about interstate commerce and state's rights. Find out what laws have been impacted by the decision made for this case -- US v. EC Knight Company (1895). Results: Reviewed Gibson v. Ogden case. Read definition of "Commerce Power" in Key Excerpts. Read "How interpretation changed..." Read paragraph about US v. EC Knight Company (1895), and then began discussion about who is being sued by whom and what the Sherman Antitrust Act is.

Group: Salt -- According to the Salt Institute, salt has many other uses in our kitchen besides cooking. Partners will talk about and write answers on "Salt Secrets" handout. Results: Pairs googled answers to questions on "Salt Secrets" handout. Many people were surprised by some of the answers they found.
