Liaison Office (国際連携室)

LipoQuality About the Liaison Office                             (简体中文版)

“LipoQuality” project, a MEXT grant on Innovative Areas for 2015-2020 (Project Leader: Makoto Arita), aims at identifying and quantifying lipid classes with a mass spectrometer in order to clarify their function through a multitude of (bio) chemical detection methods. The core researchers in this project comprise of lipid experts from all over Japan and additionally, over 15 research groups were publicly solicited to collaboratively work with the core. The LipoQuality consortium has also launched a liaison office, whose aim is to disseminate research results through the database and to collaborate internationally through our research fellowship program.

Liaison coordinator in charge: Dr. Donghan Li (lipoquality@nig.ac.jp)

Purpose of Fellowship

The purpose of our fellowship is to advance the lipid research of applicants while contributing to the research of the LipoQuality project. We provide two types of programs. One is Fellowship to study / research in Japan (1 – 3 months) and the other, Fellowship to study / research abroad (1 – 3 months).

1. Fellowship to research in Japan

Eligibility of candidate
Each candidate must satisfy the following conditions.

1. Be a citizen of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan (including Taiwan and Palestine), or a Japanese researcher living abroad.
2. Hold a master or doctorate degree in the field of lipid research
3. Have arranged a research plan with his/her host researcher in Japan

Eligibility of host researcher
A host researcher must be a core member of the LipoQuality consortium.

Terms of Support
1. A round-trip air ticket (discount economy fare only, subject to our regulations)
2. A settling-in allowance of ca. 5000 Yen / day
3. Research consumables of up to 500,000 Yen per visit

Application procedure

Please contact lipoquality@nig.ac.jp with “Fellowship inquiry” in the Subject line with your CV and host laboratory in mind. The liaison office will contact the host researcher to start collaboration.

Application for this program must be submitted by a host researcher in Japan. Foreign researchers who want to visit Japan are advised to follow these steps.
