FSI German - The same course used by the U.S. government to train diplomats.  This course is now available in digital format thanks to a community effort.

German Tutorial - A great German tutorial.

Learning German - This page from Deutsche Welle provides several resources to help you learn German.  Recommended.  

Mango German - A new website that offers German lessons.  100 lessons are currently available.  Each lessons has accompanying audio.  This is a great resource.  Free registration is required. - Simple weekly podcasts that help you to learn everyday German.  Give it a shot.

Speak 7 - Free online German lessons.  Includes grammar, vocabulary, and expressions.

Anderson Stories - Several stories from Hans Christian Andersen, a few have accompanying audio.

Berliner Morgenpost - Online news. 

Children's Library - Currently offers 37 children's books in German that can be read online.

Deutsche Welle - Up to date news from Deutsch Welle.

German Bible - The entire Bible available in German.

Google News - An excellent resource for online news articles in German.  Highly recommended.

Logos Children's Library - Several pages of children's stories, many have an accompanying audio file.  This is a wonderful way to improve your listening and reading skills.

Project Gutenberg - Several online books freely available.

Reuters Deutschland - A good selection of articles from Reuters.

The Little Prince - Available in German. 

Wikipedia - Wikipedia in German.  If online news isn't interesting enough for you, you can search for whatever you like on Wikipedia.

China Radio International - Lots of audio is available from China.  An interesting resource from a different perspective.

Euro News - Current news articles that are accompanied by video.  A great way to practice reading while listening.

German Bible - Available in MP3 format. 

German Internet Radio - A large list of online radio stations that broadcast in German.

Global Recordings Network - Provides several free Christian audio recordings.  A great resource.

Radio France International - Offers lots of audio.

Radio Sweden International - News and audio in German.

SBS Radio - Offers short audio files covering various subjects. - Free German audio books.  Both audio and text are available.

An Elementary Review Grammar of German - Several pages covering German grammar. 

Digital Dialects - This website offers basic vocabulary and games to help you practice.

German Crosswords - Offers several crosswords to help you practice.

German Language Comics - This page links to several comics in the German language.  A great way to practice.

German Vocabulary Guide - This is a great vocabulary guide.  Simply move your cursor over the word or picture to instantly hear it pronounced.

German Word Frequency List - Top 1000 words.  An interesting list of the 1000 most used words in the German language.

Internet Handbook of German Grammar - Like the name implies, a German grammar explanation.

Linguanaut - A useful collection of basic phrases. 

Mission Berlin - Interactive spy stories.  Uses lots of English, but they teach you German along the way.

Verbix - The best online verb conjugator I have found.  Just type in a verb and Verbix will completely conjugate it for you.
