#8 Wednesday, May 30, 2018 *only 8 school days left!

We made it through a totally successful Buffalo Cove trip and we have earned our last SPARK party this Friday June 1. Despite a myriad of creative ideas the class has voted yet once again for a movie/pj/special object party.  I, for one, am so disappointed we never had a dance party so I may boycott ;)  Today, we had a thrilling surprise when we discovered our Cecropia moths had emerged from their cocoons after all! The beautiful male and female made their way out over Memorial Day weekend and we have tons of eggs to show for it. The hope is to raise the next batch for the rising 3rd graders!

In the meantime, we have been working hard to prepare for our first End of Grade tests coming this Monday and Tuesday June 4th and 5th. Please support us by making sure your child rests up on Sunday and Monday and comes to school on time, hydrated, and stuffed full of a high protein breakfast.  Please also send in a high protein, easily served snack for the whole class to share just before each day of the test if you can! We will also need help cleaning our classroom next Wednesday, Thursday, and again Monday the last day of school.

How families can help make arrival and dismissal more efficient and safe:
· First, please slow down and consider staying off your cell phone- safety is most important.
· Approach the upper lot from the Food Lion (east) end of Archie Carroll road, and the lower lot from the BREMCO (west) end, with no left turns into either lot.
· PLEASE USE YOUR CAR SIGNS
· PLEASE LEAVE CAR SIGNS VISIBLE UNTIL YOU HAVE LEFT CAMPUS.
· Drivers must abide by The NC Child Passenger Safety & Booster Seat Law.
· If someone else is picking up your child please notify the teacher and/or front office before dismissal.
· If you need to talk with a teacher, it is best to wait until dismissal is over.
-When parking and walking a student to or from the classroom walk on the track instead of through the parking lot.
· At dismissal, let the staff person with the walkie-talkie call the student.

Thank You! Let us know if you have any questions.
