Assessment is a key component of ensuring our children receive the very best education they can. Formative, ongoing assessment is a crucial part of every session, every day.
Our assessment policy can be found here.

Summative Assessments

Children in Year 2 and Year 6 take formal tests called Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs) during May in English and Maths. These are essential tests that inform us how your child is progressing through the National Curriculum.
Children in Year 1 sit the statutory phonics screening test in June

Our SATs performance details can be found on the Department for Education website here.

Teacher assessments in Reading, Writing, Maths and Science are also carried out regularly to inform attainment and progress measures for every child in our school.

Early Years Foundation Stage Profiles
The Reception teacher keeps a running record (or profile) of an individual child's progress through the Foundation Stage Curriculum.

All records kept on a child in the school are available for parents to see.
