Stay Safe in the Sun!

Our Year 6 children have once more accepted the challenge from the Manchester Airport Apprentice Competition to design an advertising campaign to educate families, especially children, of the dangers of the sun and the importance of looking after your skin. The children have thrived in their teams, working creatively to design posters and compose radio jingles too. They have been fantastic role models for the other children around school in ensuring they recognise the importance of wearing a high factor sun cream, putting on sunglasses and sun hats and ensuring everyone keeps well hydrated. Many of the children have been particularly proud to see their posters on display around school and notice others stopping to look and read them.

5 teams battled it out for the honour of representing our school at Manchester Airport on Monday 9th July, presenting a five minute presentation to the Lindow judges. With such an incredibly high standard, it was a close competition and Factor 6T were chosen as the overall winners, with each team being recognised for their own particular strengths.

We hope you enjoy looking at Factor 6T's poster and that it reminds you of what to do to 'Save your Skin' this summer:

A message from Factor 6T:

Did you realise how much damage the sun can do to your skin?
Those pink marks that it leaves are not only painful and sore, but it is the sun physically burning alive parts of your skin.

You only have one skin, so don't abuse it!

Make sure you follow these three simple steps to 'Be SUNsational' this Summer time!

Slap on the suncream - factor 50 +
Use it - get our your shades and hats and keep them on.
Never forget it - never forget to drink plenty of water.
