Stay Safe in the Sun!

Our Year 6 children accepted the challenge from Manchester Airport to design a campaign to educate families (especially children) of the dangers of the sun and the need to apply suncream.

5 teams battled for the honour of representing our school. All teams designed a poster, created a 30 second radio advert and prepared a 5 minute presentation. The Lindow judges had a really tough decision to make as all the teams would have represented our school with distinction. SID the suncream bottle and the sizzling sausages both impressed but the winners were the Lindow Sun Safety Group (LSSG), Ashley, Lucy, Lilia, Beth, Ben F and Ben M with their Be Sun Smart campaign.

Here is the winning team and their poster...

LSSG's message is...

As the summer holidays are coming up and we are sure the majority of you will be going away, the Lindow Sun Safety Group would like to send a big reminder about being Sun Smart.

These are the best ways to be Sun Smart:
    SLIP! On a shirt.
    SLOP! On suncream.
    SLAP! On a hat.
    STAY! In the shade.
    SIP! Lots of water.

Don't forget to reapply cream after you have been in the sea or pool.
Remember,if you get burnt once it doesn't have serious consequences, as long as it doesn't happen again.

Happy Holiday from the LSSG 😀
