LINCOLN:

Lincoln is a city of 300,000 and is the capital of Nebraska and the home of the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers, a Big Ten university. The city's downtown is vibrant with restaurants, bars, speakeasies, and music clubs. A large number of hotels, including new boutique hotels, are available. The Haymarket downtown walking area is the center of nightlife. Sailors from around the District enjoy the downtown scene and mix of restaurants and clubs. For a sense of Lincoln's amenities.

LINCOLN SAILING CLUB

The Lincoln Sailing Club and the Lincoln Snipe Fleet have been racing Snipes on Branched Oak Lake in Lincoln, Nebraska since 1968. The club has hosted the District 2 Championships numerous times. In addition the club annually hosts The Fire on the Water Classic, a signature Snipe regatta that has regularly drawn 20-25 boats. Lincoln Sailing Club is a member-only facility surrounded by a 5,000-acre state park. Our site overlooks the racing venue at Branched Oak Lake. We have a fabulous camping site, beautifully maintained grounds, ample boat and parking areas able to hold dozens of vehicles, boats, trailers, and dollies. We have a boat ramp for launching from trailers and a beach ramp for dollies. We host all meals at our rustic, pleasant clubhouse with commanding views of the lake and the racecourse. We have ample picnic tables, tables and chairs, and indoor space for a major regatta.
