Lincoln:

Lincoln is a city of approximately 300,000 and is the capital of Nebraska and the home of the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers, a Big Ten university. The city's downtown is vibrant with restaurants, bars, speakeasies, and music clubs. A large number of hotels, including new boutique hotels, are available. The Haymarket downtown walking area is the center of nightlife. Sailors from around the District enjoy the downtown scene and mix of restaurants and clubs. For a sense of Lincoln's amenities, see:

1:00pm Gates open, registration, boat checkout, practice racing

6:00pm Welcome Party – dinner included


Saturday, August 24

8:15 Breakfast available, Registration continues

9:15 Competitor’s Meeting

10:00 First Race Start, with races continuing as conditions allow

Break for Lunch after 2 or 3 races as conditions dictate.

Races continue after lunch

6:00 Chalk Talk and Snacks

7:00 Dinner (included) and Evening Music at the Lake

9:00 Skipper’s Meeting

9:30 Races Start

1:00 Awards Luncheon


Race Committee (RC) will attempt to complete seven (7) races over two days.

Lincoln Sailing Club Facility:

Primitive camping is available, at no charge, on the Lincoln Sailing Club’s seven acre site on Branched Oak Lake. There is a public pay campground nearby, complete with hookups and showers. Some members have campers onsite that may be available for competitors. Area motels closest to Branched Oak Lake are at the Lincoln airport or in downtown Lincoln – approximately 30 minutes away with costs averaging $100 - $125 per night.
