From Mary Buckley:

Hello Sailors & Friends!

Fire on the Water Last Weekend - Huge Success -  While the forecast called for winds around 2-3 mph, the wind and weather gods thought otherwise and delivered near perfect wind conditions in the 8-15 mph range all weekend, and some clouds on Saturday morning with just a few sprinkles that kept most of the motorboats away.  Twelve teams of sailors from Colorado, St. Louis, Wichita, and Omaha joined the eight Lincoln teams to put twenty boats on the line at the 52nd Annual Fire on the Water Classic Regatta last weekend.  Racing was close with Ryan Schubert and Alanna Fernandez from Rocky Mountain Fleet #210 coming from behind to take home the trophy on the last race.  Complete results are attached.  Andrew Ozaki shared some photos - take a look: https://www.flickr.com/photos/35199027@N03/shares/3LJ38J

While many of you contributed in a variety of ways, I want to mention just a few:  Rich & Donna Reichenbach and crew for getting the grounds looking great, Andrew & Margaret Ozaki, with special assistance from Faye Sabata and their entire crew, for organizing all the food, Andrew Ozaki and John Buckley for preparing/cooking all the meat, Will Thomas as Regatta Chair and event emcee, John Buckley, Maryann Brock, John Layman, Brook Seacrest and a few more crew on Race Committee, and Laurie Russell and Rachel Robinson for designing/ordering the shirts.  It takes a lot of people to make an event such as this successful...so thank you one and all!  Our guests from out of town are very appreciative of everything we do to make their time here so enjoyable...and they spread the word...giving us quite the reputation for an outstanding event!  We'll have another chance to prove that when we host the US Snipe Women's National Championships August 23 - 25.

Coming up - On the calendar this week:
Friday June 21 -  Pleasure Cruising to the marina's Boathouse Bar Grill (see Dale's email from earlier today)
Sunday June 23 -  Club races
And looking ahead a bit - plan to spend the Fourth of July at the club. We'll do some pleasure sailing in the afternoon, followed by a potluck dinner.
The complete calendar is attached.
