Hello Sailors & Friends!

Sunday at the Lake -  It was a great day at the lake last Sunday! Skippers/crews and eleven boats hit the water ready to race....six Snipes, four Sunfish, and one lonely catamaran.  The Snipes sailed pretty consistent, but Matan Gill and McKynze Works get the prize for capsizing with less than 4 minutes to the start...righting the boat in record time..and still making the start on time! The Sunfish fleet welcomed two (2) rookies - former member Joe Heinzle, and Taryn Smith - granddaughter of Social Member Jan Wahl and the late Chuck Wahl.   (P.S. I think they are hooked!)  They really mixed it up..the 1st and 2nd places boats, and the 3rd and 4th place boats traded finishing places over the 2 races.  And poor Tom Willoughby just sailed his catamaran around with nobody to race against.  Come on you Hobie sailors...give him somebody to sail with!   Results and standings for the Snipe Fleet and Sunfish Fleet are attached.

Coming up - On the calendar this week:
Fourth of July at the Club - Plan to spend the Fourth of July at the club. We'll do some pleasure sailing in the afternoon, followed by a potluck dinner.
Sunday July 7 -  Club races beginning at 2 PM
Next Tuesday July 9, Sunfish Sailing Clinic 6-8 PM.

Fire on the Water Shirts for Sale - Attached is a photo of the FOTW shirts.  Tanks are available in S, M, L, XL ($13), 100% cotton t-shirts - size L or XL ($11), and Dri-Tech short sleeve XL only ($18).  I'll have them at the lake on Thursday the 4th...or email me to save you one.

Hope to see you at the lake on the 4th...think sailing!  John and I are headed to Colorado for the Bow Mar Snipe Regatta next weekend, so results from Sunday's races may be delayed
