Pleasure Cruising Tomorrow at the Lake - This Friday, July 12, (that's tomorrow!), we have a Pleasure Cruise to the Boat House Bar and Grill at the Branched Oak Lake Marina scheduled.  The forecast calls for nice cruising winds..should be a lovely evening.  As usual, we'll head out from LSC about 6pm, sail over to the marina, tie up to the dock, and have a nice meal, then return.  John and I plan to be there, and can take a couple more on our cruiser. Whether you'd like to ride along with someone, or have room on your cruiser for others to join you, please respond so plans can be made.  Hope to see you Friday.

Fourth of July at the Lake -  It was a beautiful day at the lake for the Fourth! Several went for a long cruise, others practiced in Sunfish, or just spent time in the water to stay cool. We had a great crowd for the evening potluck. Thanks to everyone that brought great food, and special thanks to new member Seth Lewin for handling the grilling..and of course to our Social Committee Director/Chair Vicki Albert who takes care of getting the meat and beverages out there, makes sure we have plates and cutlery, organizes the service, and then cleans it all up afterwards and stores the leftover beverages for next time.  Be sure to tell her thank you when you see her...and I'm sure she'd welcome more assistance on the Social Committee.

Last Sunday - Andrew Ozaki was at the lake to perform Race Committee duty, but he says our luck with the wind finally ran out. The wind was blowing at maybe 1 to 2 mph with a lot of motor boat chop. Taryn, an enthusiastic new sailor planning to race in the US Snipe Women's Nationals (and Jan Wahl's granddaughter) showed up and was ready to race, but the wind just would not cooperate.  We're hoping for better luck this Sunday...so be there!

Coming up - On the calendar:
Friday July 12 -  Please Cruising to the marina leaving about 6 PM
Sunday July 14 -  Club races beginning at 2 PM
Tuesday July 16 - Sunfish Sailing Clinic 6-8 PM.
Saturday July 20 - Cornhusker State Games - we're hosting a potluck dinner after the races - all members are welcome and encouraged to attend (racing or not).
Sunday July 21 -  Skills and Drills Snipe Practice for those planning to race US Women's Nationals - No Club Races
