Membership is open year-round, and membership is automatically approved for golfers of any age, skill level, or location. Membership dues are $150 per year (discounted rates for ages 17 and under) and include an NCGA index and NCGA membership. LPGC members have access to a pay-to-play 12-month tournament schedule (See Calendar in sidebar to the left), which includes NCGA qualifying tournaments, the Club Championship, team tournaments, pairs tournaments, and away events at golf courses such as Lake Chabot, Bennett Valley, Mare Island, Oakland's Metrolinks, and Boundary Oaks.
Benefits of Becoming an LPGC Member
Included in your membership to the LPGC is your membership in the NCGA, which offers exclusive members-only opportunities to play country clubs all over northern California not normally accessible to the public.
The home & away tournament schedule for LPGC includes qualifying events to represent the club at local NCGA events such as the NCGA Zone (4-Man Team), Net Amateur, 2-Man (4 ball), and Senior 2-Man (4 ball). For those who qualify at the LPGC event, those members’ greens fees are covered by the club for all NCGA qualifying rounds.
Lincoln’s home events are pay-per-play, so you are entitled to spend as much as you want per season. Greens fees for home events are $35, not including a cart. Some home events incorporate fun variations on team and individual competitions, including the 3-Stick, Blind Draw, Turkey Shoot, Two-Person Scramble, and Orange Ball tournaments.
As an LPGC member, you have an opportunity to play in the annual 12-Man Team competition, where a rotating group of 12 LPGC members compete as a team against other golf clubs in the Bay Area. Lincoln members have won this NCGA-sponsored championship in 1995 and 1997, and were Runners-Up in 2008 at Poppy Hills GC.
With an average of 24 members who compete weekly, the opportunity to win points and prizes is high. Since each event is net-golf, your course handicap is subtracted from your gross score at the end of the day. Low gross and Top 5 net golfers are awarded coupons redeemable for all merchandise in the LPGC pro shop.
San Francisco History
In addition to being the home for the qualifying rounds of the annual San Francisco City Golf Championship, Lincoln Park Golf Club has been a staple of the Bay Area golf community for 95 years. One of San Francisco’s few public municipal courses, Lincoln holds some of the most majestic views of San Francisco, the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. With golf accessible and affordable year-round, Lincoln is surely a test of skill and patience. With only one par-5, Lincoln tops out at 5415 yards (Par 68), yet many would argue Lincoln’s hills and long Par-3’s hold the upper hand on most of their rounds of golf.
