Lina Maria Ellegård

Hello there!

I am an associate professor in economics at Kristianstad University. I also have a part time position at the Economics department at Lund University.

My research is focused on the Swedish healthcare system, with a particular focus on primary care. Current research topics include the role of continuity in doctor-patient relationships, the demand for telemedicine, and the effects of risk-adjusted capitation on socioeconomic inequalities in health. How patients choose their provider is another recurring topic in my research. Furthermore, I have explored how primary care providers react to competition and pay-for-performance, and the rise and fall of activity-based funding in Swedish hospital care.
