I don't have much of a build log for this one. Upon crashing it repeatedly into everything in the house at least once... I "repurposed" a mini 3d RC helicopter.
Inspired by the motion of the Keepon robot, I convinced myself most of the motion could be made very simply out of the collective pitch stage of the helicopter.
This is the first revision. Made the head out of a Styrofoam ball and googly eyes...
The second revision consisted of an unmodified styrofoam ball. The body is made of two soft foam golf practice balls glued together.
In the final revision the body is glued to the floor. I had hoped this would add the "squish" seen in the original Keepon. This was successful to some extent but it severely limits the robots motion.
