Well, summer is here everywhere in the country.  Heatwise, it's been summer in Phoenix since early May.  But just like the cold in the rest of the country in winter, in the summer in Phoenix, it's time to stay inside.  So when we aren't in the pool, it's a great time to hunker down in the sewing room and get some quilting done while enjoying the air conditioning.  I've got the kids home with me for the summer, so I don't get quite as much time for designing as I would like, but I do get lots of inspiration.

Ahh Summer.  It's the time of picnics, vacations, spending time at the beach (when we're in CA), and just taking it easy.  Hopefully all of you out there enjoy it as much as we do (though as Phoenicians, we'd like it to be 20 degrees cooler).  It's a time for quilting with bright colors that reflect the season, and all of the beauty that's surrounding us.  From the turquoise blues, lemon yellows, lime greens and citrus oranges that tend to be reflective of the season, now is a great time to make a quilt top that will brighten those dreary winter months that are right around the corner.  So, raid your stash and see what wonderful summer quilts that you can create!
