March  12  -     15 Shades of Grey

A One Day Only Hands - on painting workshop where you first learn about the History and Science of Grey and Why It’s ‘Grey–t’.   Then do some hands on learning about Tints, Shades and Tones (Values) in Painting and how to create greys. Instruction also includes paintings and biographies of Famous Artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and the currently controversial Chuck Close who excelled with this colourThen you get to paint your own picture, with coaching from Terri! 

What:  All instruction, paints, a 16” by 20” canvass and snacks and drinks are provided for a fee of $40, due at the workshop date.  

When:  from 1 – 5 p.m. on Monday, March 12.

April 25 OR April 27:  Keep on the Sunny Side

A Hands-on painting workshop where you first learn about the History, Science and Psychology of Yellow, Orange and Gold.  Find out how to blend these colours and how to apply gold leaf. Instruction includes a survey of famous artists, such as van Gogh and Gustav Klimpt,  who painted outstandingly with these colours.  Then you can choose to follow along with a suggested picture of Sunflowers, similar to Vincent van Gogh’s work or paint your own creation, with coaching from Terri! 

 

What:  All instruction, paints, a 16” by 20” canvass and snacks and drinks are provided for a fee of $40, due at the workshop date.  

When:  from 1 – 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25 or Friday, April 27.

 May 14 OR May 18  Blue is the Colour of My True Love

 A Hands-on painting workshop where you first learn about the History, Science and Psychology of the World’s Most Popular Colour.  Become Adept with the Names and Shades of Various Blues and with some of the Famous Artists Associated with Blue, such as Yves Klein and Claude Monet.  Then you can choose to follow along with a suggested seascape picture or paint your own creation, with coaching from Terri! 

What:  All instruction, paints, a 16” by 20” canvass and snacks and drinks are provided for a fee of $40, due at the workshop date.  

When:  from 1 – 5 p.m. on either Monday, May 14 or Friday, May 18.

The Zen of Green

What is it about the colour Green?  It’s motivated artists over the millennium!  

First learn about the history of green, its influence on our brains, and some of the great artistic Masters who painted well with this colour. 

Then create your own masterpiece  - Nature-oriented, Impressionistic, Expressionistic, Portrait, Abstract – your choice!

When:  Friday, January 5  OR   Monday, January from 1 – 5 p.m.

Where:  Lighthouse Country Community Center, in the newly renovated Nordin Room

What:  Receive all the visual instruction, acrylic paint and a 16 x 20 canvas, plus lots of wonderful appetizers and drinks for $40. (Please bring your own brushes, (and if you want to, an easel, though not necessary.)

Who:  Experienced and beginners alike.  Come and have fun!  Be creative!  Bring a friend!
