Life Skills for Autism is an organization that provides services and assistance to people with developmental disabilities, specializing in Autism and working in partnership with families & professionals in British Columbia, Canada.
We understand that every person impacted by autism may learn and benefit from different varieties of treatments or interventions that are –ABA based.
Therefore we base our programs under the principals of Applied behavior Analysis customizing each plan to the needs of the person, and the family.
focus of Life Skills program is to
promote the participants communication, social, emotional and functional
abilities & development of these skills independently into every day life
Lesson Plans are Build around Participants unique level of interest (person centered planning), where Motivation is the key element that determines the pace and enjoyment of services under a productive and Supportive Positive Learning Environment.
The program emphasizes and builds on the existing
strengths of children and families by developing positive mentoring guided
techniques to empower functioning skills. The program focus is on inclusive
community participation, providing a one-one level of support and integration towards
the communities, where we incorporate theory and practice side by side.
Services are eligible and covered by MCFD, CLBC
& through private funding.
Each service is centered to empower
families therefore families have control over the length of contract.
