God's Solution Is Jesus Christ

Why is Jesus Christ the only solution?

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man at the same time.  He is both the Son of God and also God the Son. In the Bible Jesus is sometimes referred to as the "Word." Here is what the Gospel of John has to say about Jesus:  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."  (John 1:1 - NIV) Jesus has existed from all eternity and was responsible along with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit for the creation of the universe and man.  He holds us in His hand at this moment and He is the reason we are able to take our next breath.

Early in the history of man The Bible speaks of One who will come, “the Seed of the woman,” to conquer Satan.  All the Biblical prophets spoke of the Messiah who would come to save mankind.Throughout the Old Testament there are hundreds of prophecies about Jesus which were literally and specifically fulfilled by Him during His time on earth.

Jesus was born as a human being conceived in Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit.  "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us."  (John 1:14a - NIV) Since He did not have a human father He did not inherit our sin nature from Adam. The Book of Hebrews says that Jesus was: " tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin." (Hebrews 4:15b - NIV) He was subject to temptations just like us but never did anything that was not pleasing to God the Father.  In other words He led a perfect, sinless life and so He was qualified to pay the penalty for our sins.

Jesus was tried and convicted of a crime He did not commit and was sentenced to death.  Then He was beaten, whipped, tortured, nailed to a Roman cross and died. His death was accepted by God the Father as payment in full for all of our sin debt.  "For Christ died for sins once for all..."  (1 Peter 3:18a - NIV) He rose from the dead three days later and spent 40 more days on earth. During this time He was seen by more than 500 witnesses, He ate food and people touched Him. Then Jesus ascended visibly into the clouds in the sight of His followers and He is in Heaven right now acting as our Great High Priest and preparing a place for all those have faith in Him.

The Bible is very clear that we cannot earn our way to Heaven by anything we can possibly do on our own. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast." (Eph. 2:8-9 - NIV) God prescribes the correct way for us to be forgiven of our sins. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 (NIV) CLICK HERE to view Bible teaching on "Confession."

The New Testament tells us that we can be forgiven and accepted by God and fulfill God's purpose for our lives only through believing that Jesus' death and resurrection paid in full the penalty for our sins, turning away from our sinful lifestyle and putting God in control of our lives.

The faith we need to have is more that just an intellectual acceptance that Jesus existed, was crucified and rose from the dead.  It needs to be different than just asking God to provide us with food or shelter or trusting God to protect and heal us. Real “saving” faith is trusting only in Jesus Christ for our Eternal Life.  Our belief in Jesus must move us to follow His way of life.

We receive this God's Free Gift of Eternal Life through prayer.  If you would like to trust Jesus Christ right now for your eternal life click on the link below to go to a suggested model prayer:
