Welcome to

Hello and Welcome to Life at Gray Gables webpage.

Above you can see Gray Gables in it's new glory. It has come a long way from it's beginning in 1892. We have been the Proud owners since 2012, working hard to bring back it's history, as well as establish new beginnings. Today, it is full of life, from our family, which is much different than the seven years prior, when it sat vacant, alone and desolate.

This old house is also the inspiration for my blog, http://lifeatgraygables.blogspot.com/

We have made this our home, and have already begun to experience adventures centered around Gray Gables.

Enjoy the blog. Enjoy the website. Enjoy the updates!

We look forward to the journey's ahead.

  • When is The Last time You Level-Up'd? Business Support, Lifestyle by: Kel Amstutz So, once upon a time... I started this blog, you know the one...Life at Gray Gables back in 2011.  Sure, I was full of content but I wasn't really clear on  what I wanted to dowho my audience waswhat my brand could beor even what mission I was on It was, in my own words, my Hobby blogIt was not a business.  It was something that I dedicated my heart and soul to, put my passion into, but I was putting my words on the computer screen, not really thinking about building anything...BIGGER than that. I was not navigating my ship. I was not being the captain ...

  • Are You Spinning Your Wheels, And Not Happy? Lifestyle, Struggle By: Kel Amstutz I've always been to mature for my age.  There is a reason why.  In some areas of my life, I have had to grow up fast or learn quick. (learning was not my strong suite) I always tried to help others, even when I just couldn't.   I tried so hard to fix some in my life, or change them.  Then this thing called hindsight would hit me and I would realize that that just wasn't right.    I had this voice, this inner knowing that was getting louder and louder, until I finally had to take a step back.  I had to think about: my life my goals my wantsmy dreams YouTube ...

  • Goal Setting with Soul (this really works) Goals, Lifestyle by: Kel Amstutz I'm a Mom.  People who don't have children think they know what it is like to have them. But, frankly, they don't know.    My life is about hard work. It is about sacrifice. My life is about living my life to make an impact.  My life is about standing for something.  My life is about taking care of my girls all day long. My life is about serving others and escaping here and there for "me time".      Setting goals in your life should about be done with both your mind and your soul...together...as one. 2016

February-  KJ turns 7!!!  Kelley starts subbing Kindergarten! Rocking it!!!

March- Hubby is officially TEAM LEADER! #superproudwife   Kelley is LOVING this flex schedule and time with girls and hubby. Life is good.  It is Birthday Central this month...

April- Hubby has been grinding at work after we made the decision to put the other house up for sale...FINALLY! (3 years in the making).
Kelley is still having the plot twist in her life. With our funds being  cut with the removal of our rental income due to the impeding sale of the other house. After a week of painting, fixing up, cleaning with more to do... it's a pray that this is God's plan. All in all life is good.  Plus, with the conclusion of John Green's "The Fault in Our Stars" that was finally read, OKay!
KJ is almost finished with school. She had a lovely spring break, started soccer again, and is ready to throw in the towel! Summer is coming!!!
Kit Kat is almost done with Pre-K- graduation is around the corner! Plus, she turns 5 and ALL!  Watch out...she will be CHEWING GUM!
#itsthelittlethingsthatmatter

May- Hubby turns ##!  Guess who had GUM- Kit Kat (5) and guess what...she doesn't LIKE IT! #nojoke  Our old house is up for sale...finally (not GG- our 1st house) and we have fingers...toes...you name it....it's CROSSED! #needsomeluck Schools out for summer (end of May) and we are SO excited! We have a PreSchool Graduate and a 1st Grade Graduate- Kindergarten and 2nd Grade HERE WE COME! Oh,and we found out we have a little LEAD problem at Gray Gables (seriously, we have 1 room that still has original paint..go FIGURE!) but since Kit Kat bites her nails...it is showing in her blood. Good News though- we had to have extensive blood work done on both girls and after making the room OFF LIMITS (yes, it was the PlayRoom) until further painting and preparations- they came back with a ZERO LEAD DETECTION. (whew!) #thatwascary

June- Schools OUT and we are LOVING IT! Kel Here and I have been interviewing (ugh) and spending TIME with my girls! Love this. It is a little tough having 1 income...but I will never get this time back and I am taking it all IN!  We SOLD our house...then it fell though- #rollercoasterrideahead - so we are back to the drawing board. #itsinGodshands  Garage Sale bound- and boy did I clean out the ATTIC #feelingaccomplished  I am praying for the path, for enough money to make ends meet, to love, and to happiness. #letuspray  I have been writing and making signs like a beast and I feel very tapped into my creative outlet. Don't forget reading #check

July- Wow. July flew on by. We are still trying to sell our house #nofun, we cleaned up the outside of Gray Gables #finally, siding is going up, trim pieces are going in place and things are happening! Life is good. I am spending as much time as I can with my little ladies and getting things done here and there. Swimming is an everyday occurrence and it is fabulous! My kids are fishes disguised as children! Hubby and I even took a night away and went to a hotel (thanks to a dear friend) and it had an indoor pool and was a great night to reconnect. #yesImissedmykidsthough  I also had a birthday- let's see how 34 treats me #whoamitryingtokid and it was great. I feel so creative now! ;) Let's see what August brings us. #feelinghopeful #prayingforhealthandwealth

August- Well to say that I am busy is an understatement. I have been helping Hubby with our MASSIVE wood pile- but we are SET for winter #ihope and that is a great feeling. #istackwood  The kids have been enjoying the raining August that this month has been #hotandrainy and we are winding down the summer #tear . Hubby got himself a #brandspankingnew truck and I am so proud of him. I am happy that he can have something new and shiny that makes all the work he does to provide for us an object that he is happy with. Life is good. Now, if we can just sell this darn house (not gray gables) we would be in a great place!  I have been grinding and making my BLOG real, #finally and that is something that I am so excited about! Keep watching...things are taking shape! Happy end of summer all!
