OUR SCHOOL LIBRARY

Mrs. Debra Acker is the teacher-librarian who manages the library, along with many wonderful parent and parish volunteers.  You may contact her by calling the school office: 262-367-2040, or by email: dacker@stcharleshartland.org

Reading and Literacy are key pillars to our curriculum at St. Charles School. We highly encourage our students to become life-long readers! To support this, Mrs. Acker teaches library/literacy skills through lessons and book presentations.  Students in 3K through 5th grades meet weekly. The Middle School meets monthly, and also has access to the library during FIT and their lunch hour.  ALL students have access to the library before and after school.

SUMMER READING - BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

Please select a GRADE LEVEL from the menu on the left for great book recommendations.

The school library is closed for the summer, however ALL the local libraries are open...with librarians ready help you find some great books!

Reading every day keeps your reading skills current, and prevents summer slide!

Where will we see you reading...on the beach?...in a treehouse?...in a blanket-fort?...

LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS

We are always looking for help in the library.  If you would like to volunteer during a scheduled class time (shelving books, checking books in/out), please use:

If you would like to volunteer at a time that is NOT listed on the Sign-up Genius, please contact Mrs. Acker, and she will make it happen.

We also need help covering and/or repairing books, which may be done at school or from home.

Don't forget our annual FOLLETT BOOK FAIR coming in November 2019. We can always use some extra hands and smiling faces!

ST. CHARLES SCHOOL - ONLINE CATALOG

On the left menu...

Library Search  is a standard search, that may also be customized under the tab Power Search.

Destiny Discover is an easy to use resource, that complements our online catalog.  Just type in a key word, such as dog, or humor,  and it will bring up everything we have relating to that word.  It gives reading levels, interest levels, and awards after the book description.
**It also suggests other books you may like to read, in the right column.
