Our next Word Within the Word Test will be a review test of lists 1, 2, and 3.  This test will be on11/18/16.  Students should be studying their word lists between now and then.

All students must take the AR test on Wonder by 10/31/16.

All students should be working on their 24 or More Book Challenge.  I will conference with students a few at a time over the next few weeks to be sure that they are on pace.  

Students in Purple and Silver Blocks should be working on their speeches.  Class Speech contest isNovember 4th.  They should also be working on their individual portions of their Character Menu Project. Individual parts for Purple and Silver blocks are due November 3rd.  Groups will presentNovember 9th or 10th.

Science HW: We will have a waves vocabulary quiz on Wednesday.  It will only count once.  The terms you need to know are: wave, disturbance, vibration, medium, electromagnetic wave, vacuum, mechanical wave, transverse wave along with: crest, trough, wavelength, amplitude, resting point, longitudinal wave along with: rarefaction, compression, wavelength, seismic waves.

SS HW: We will have a Mesopotamia test, which will count twice either Friday or next Monday.  I will let students know later in the week which day and will provide a study guide.  Students can begin to prepare by reading through their Mesopotamia PowerPoint notes and vocabulary words.

Sci/SS:  Thursday we will have a quiz on the 7 continents, 4 oceans, longitude, and latitude.  Please see the word document on Mrs. Jones' website page (link to the left under Welcome!) for several online games that can help your child study.
Next Tuesday (Oct. 4th) we will have our 5 Themes of Geography test that will cover the important information from the entire 5 Themes of Geography packet we have been working through.  There are also practice quizzes on the attached word document to help your child review the five themes.
We will be doing mainly SS this whole week and will not have Science HW.

LOVE-liest Pooch Contest:
On the week of Valentine’s Day, we will be having a “LOVE-liest Pooch” contest. Students can enter a photo of their dog by Friday February 10. All photos will be displayed in the lobby the week of Valentines day and students and visitors will be able to vote for the cutest dog using money/spare change. The pooch with the most money in their box WINS and their owner will win a Walmart gift card and bragging rights! The winner will be reimbursed for their entry fees for the dog show and will be the leader in our Pooch Parade at Bark for Bucks! Email pics to lmsbarkforbucks@gmail.com
