United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women

All women of the church are invited to join the fellowship of any of the following women’s circles:

Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF):  The CWF meets the second Tuesday of every month, except July and August, at 7 p.m. in the parlor. Our Mission Statement is: To know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to provide Christian support to our church family. Our active members, some of who are working and others retired, enjoy the fellowship of each other and welcome any woman to join us. Some of our outreach projects include: helping with the homeless week; co-ordinate the "Snack Pack" monthly take home lunch bags for Belle Grove Elementary School; co-ordinate the "Return to School Kits for Belle Grove Elementary School and financial contributions to many other mission programs.

Evelyn Keller Circle: meets the second Wednesday of every month, except July and August, at 12:00 Noon in Room 111.

Friendship Circle

We are a group of Christain Women not ready to just sit in a rocking chair, not just yet.  As God is being good to us and we are very blessed.  This group has been meeting for 48 years, when our children were just babies and one member volunteered to babysit so others could have a meeting, always the second Wednesday of the month at 1:00PM in the Parlor, as we still do to this date.  The opportunity to serve our church, its members and the community where help is needed is our goal.  We have a few fund raisings throughout the year, commemorative plates, wonderful flavorings, serving dinner to the United Methodist Men at their meetings and donations from receptions.

Following is a list of our support and donations we have made contributions to:

LHUMC Sunday School                                    NCEON

LHUMC Missions                                             Linthicum Community Fair & Bicentennial

Persons in need of food & financial help

We’ve rolled up our sleeves and helped clean our kitchen, church and planted flowers.  At our meetings we pray, laugh, cry at times, help each other, tell stories and always have delicious refreshments.  Just “Christian women” that God has blessed, given us nourishment, strength, life, faith and much “LOVE.”  We pray our love shines forth through Christ our Lord.
