                                 Vision Statement
Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy is a partnership of students, families and staff: striving to achieve the full potential of each student in order to promote a lifetime of success. We are dedicated to fostering an environment of high moral standards, academic excellence, personal motivation and self-discipline through a military based program. Our strength is our ongoing  ability to improve our program while remaining focused on our vision, purpose and strategies.
 


Purpose, Philosophy and Objectives:

Purpose: Primary reasons for establishment of Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy
        To prepare students for intellectual and academic achievement in an ever changing world.
        To help students develop sound moral principles of Christian principles.
        To help students develop a sense of responsibility, self discipline, integrity and devotion to duty. 
        To provide students with opportunities for development of their creative abilities and talents.
        To provide students with a favorable social environment.
        To provide a program of physical activity that promotes a sound mind and body and promotes sportsmanship.      
 
Philosophy: Beliefs, concepts and attitudes on which the school's program is based.
      
 
Community Service
Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy's midshipmen participate in a variety of community service projects within the Southern Maryland community.  Volunteerism is an important aspect of the program at Leonard Hall.   
 
Board of Trustees 
Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy, Inc. is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees, comprised of at least nine, but no more than twelve positions, shall manage the business of the Corporation.  Out of the twelve positions there are seven Parent Trustee member positions and five Community Trustee member positions.  Trustees shall be elected for a term of two years.

Corporation members are parents or legal guardians of a child enrolled at LHJNA and full time staff members employed by LHJNA.  A Monthly Membership Meeting is designed for information sharing and consensus on school operational issues presented by the BOT or corporation Members. These Monthly Membership Meetings shall be conducted on the second Tuesday of each of the following September, October, November, December, January, February, April, and May at 7:00 p.m. or at such times as shall be duly noticed.
