Open air bee colony rescue

posted Apr 6, 2018, 7:24 PM by bryan hains

Here we have a honey bee colony that was built in the open air hanging from a juniper tree branch probably by a swarm that couldn’t find a home inside an oak tree, wall, roof, or similar. The home owner said she woke up and found it in pieces on the ground and all the bees clustered on a branch nearby. Our best guess is that a pack of raccoons destroyed it looking for honey. Glad we could help rescue these bees.
