PERFECT FOR HUNTER
THIS IS OUR STORY:
We are Tammy and Frank Lewis. We are dog lovers who currently reside in Yuma, Arizona. We met while we were both K-9 Officers with the US Customs Service back in 1997. In 1999, Tammy was injured while working her narcotics detector dog who was a beautiful black lab. After a year in rehabilitation she was unable to return to work due to her physical limitations from her injury. Missing her job (which basically entailed "playing" with her dog all day), she wanted to continue working with dogs so she decided to breed Labrador Retrievers. Frank still works as an instructor training dog teams overseas for military and foreign police officers in explosive and narcotics detection. Simply put, we love this breed; they are the best dogs for whatever your needs. From a family pet to the hunter's best friend... to leading the blind to comforting a disabled veteran. Labrador Retrievers are the best choice. They make excellent service dogs for police partners to search and rescue to narcotics detection. Labs are highly intelligent and versatile animals. We strive to produce healthy, well-rounded puppies with good temperaments. We introduce the puppies to a range of experiences so that they are well-adjusted and acclimated to a wide variety of situations. Some examples are: cats, children (we have 13 grandchildren), other dogs, loud noises, and people. Your new puppy will have a great socialization start so that he or she comes to you as a confident and happy pup. We start them on their potty training at four weeks and teach them manners to sit for their meals. Our dogs are all purebred and registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC). We do not "show" our dogs. We are not a puppy mill. We only breed after the age of two and never more than three or four litters. All of our dogs live in our home and are a part of our family. Labradors are not meant to be put outside and left alone; they are "pack" animals. Our dogs have been health and genetic tested. We ask that you complete an application to aid us in choosing the best place for each of our puppies and dogs. Choosing your new family member is a big decision as he or she will be with you for the next 12 to 15+ years. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We hope to make you a part of our extended "K-9" family.
Have a pawsome day!
