I am an Economist and Machine Learning Engineer at Instacart, and will be graduating from Stanford at the end of Summer 2022 with a PhD in Economics.

In my academic research, I enjoyed leveraging advances in natural language processing (e.g., BERT/RoBERTa) and computer vision tools to study verbal and non-verbal media bias in the United States. More generally, my research falls within the domain of applied microeconomics and has covered topics such as media, information technologies, polarization, and conflict. Much of my academic research is joint work with Jacob Conway, Matthew Gentzkow, and Jesse Shapiro.

My writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and various academic outlets. See my research page for more information on my academic and non-academic writing.
