Profile

Professional Summary

I majored Electrical Engineering (EE) and Mathematics in undergraduate course at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). I had special interests in communication theory, algebra, and combinatorics. In Graduate School of Information Technology at POSTECH, I received Master degree with research results on the linear complexity of periodic sequences for cryptographic systems. In the Ph. D. course at EE, POSTECH, I had several contributions on design and analysis of pseudorandom sequences for multiple-access communication systems such as code-division multiple-access (CDMA), frequency-hopping multiple-access (FHMA), and so on. Almost all of the results for my Ph. D. degree have been published in IEEE Transactions on Information Theory which is one of the most outstanding journals in the area of information theory and communications. As a result, I received the ‘Best Thesis Award’ from EE, POSTECH. Then, I worked a postdoctoral researcher at communications & signal design laboratory at POSTECH for two years. From Feb. 2013, I have joined the school of ECE in Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). My current research interests include sequence design for communication and cryptographic systems, channel coding for next-generation applications, and mathematical structures for communications and cryptography.
