Our mission is to provide a service to anyone interested in experiencing the Spirit of Aloha through traditional and contemporary song, dance, education and fellowship.
To promote awareness of the Hawaiian culture, encourage the sharing of knowledge with others, and instill a sense of ʻohana for our community in a supportive environment.
Kanikapila means “play music.” It comes from two Hawaiian words. “Kani” meaning “sound” and “ka pila” meaning “any string instrument.” Kanikapila has come to mean a gathering together to sing and play music. E Kanikapila Kākou! means “Let's Play Music!” We are a ʻohana (family) focused group.
We are a group of friends (nā hoaaloha kamaʻāina) who are committed to sharing our passion for the Hawaiian music, language and culture with the community through fellowship and encouragement.
