This happens on a clean installation of Windows Vista SP2, ultimate x64 edition.  The computer is a ThinkPad X61 with 4GB memory.
 
After Windows Vista is installed, I tried to install Lenovo drivers and packages.  I installed Intel Chipset Support first.  It went through smoothly, then I downloaded the Lenovo System Interface Driver from the Lenovo website.  Run the file and extracted to a folder.  Then run setup.exe to install.
 
 
Click Next:
 
 
Click Instal, the following dialog window pops up:
 
 
If I click "Manual Installation", then the following window is shown:
 
 
If I click "Skip Installation", then nothing happens.
 
Either way, the installation ends with a choice of restart computer now or later.
 
What is weird is that an entry for "Lenovo System Interface Driver" is created in Control Panel, Programs and Features.  The file Install.txt in the Lenovo System Interface Driver instalaltion file folder clearly shows:
