My research areas include social search and social networks, Web security/privacy and information retrieval, system modeling and measurements, and distributed computing systems for Internet services. Today’s Internet is driven by users and applications. I am particularly interested in user behavior patterns of the cutting edge Internet systems and applications, such as online social networks, search engines, Internet video streaming services, peer-to-peer systems, etc. My research focuses on user behavior pattern analysis (measurements), how these patterns can affect Internet systems (modeling), and approaches to solving corresponding system and application problems (algorithms and system implementation). My research methodology is both experimental and analytical, using technologies of different disciplines including modeling and performance evaluation, measurements and simulation, statistical machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, etc.
I have published 25 papers in computer science journals and conferences. My h-index is 18. I am an ACM member and an IEEE member.
