Due to current recommendations to prevent the spread of Coronavirus many local organizations have cancelled support groups, classes and hospital tours through the end of March and will reevaluate at that time if further cancellations are necessary. LVBC provides the below schedule for informational purposes only, LVBC does not run the below listed support groups. Please contact the individual organizations if you have any further questions about meetings. Their contact information is listed on the Support groups page of the resource guide. 

LVBC Monthly Meetings Join local lactation supporter

s, healthcare providers, government service providers, business owners, local leaders, and area moms in discussing how to promote breastfeeding support, and education. Babies and children are welcome.

Local Support Groups There are a variety of support groups with regularly scheduled meetings. Some meetings are held during the day, others are evening meetings. Some are drop in, others require a sign up ahead of time. Many are free. Expectant mothers are welcome.

Breastfeeding Classes Offered at local hospitals and some baby-friendly businesses. Usually for a fee. Expectant parents are encouraged to attend before baby arrives, but may attend at anytime. Older children are generally not present, but talk to the instructor when you register.

Training Sessions and Professional Development for lactation supporters including nurses, peer counselors, doulas, and others.
