KLAPOTÁŘI - Rattling boys

On Maundy Thursday all church bells departed to Rome (bells stopped ringing). Boys with rattles replaced the ringing of bells, and walked around the village in the morning, at noon and at night.

It was said that children were chasing Judas. On the last round (on Holy Saturday) so called Klapotáři  (rattling boys) used to  go round tle village with baskets and they usually got some bounty.
