Birthers v. Obama

There is a group of conspiracy believers who claim that U.S. President Barack Obama is not  constitutionally eligible to be the president of the United States because, they assert, he is not a  natural born citizen of the U.S.

These people claim that Obama was not born in Hawaii, but rather in Kenya.  They claim that his  State of Hawaii birth certificate is a forgery.  They claim that they have uncovered his "real" birth  certificate from Kenya.  They claim that his "true" birthplace has been covered up in some sort of  conspiracy to install Obama as president.

Believers in this particular conspiracy have come to be known as the "Birthers".

The Birther cause has been taken up by a dentist/real estate agent/lawyer named Orly Taitz, who has  filed several frivolous lawsuits in an attempt to have Obama declared ineligible to hold the office of the  U.S. presidency.

The most recent of these cases brought by Taitz is the matter of Rhodes v. MacDonald, Obama et al.

Ms. Connie Rhodes is a medical doctor who signed on with the U.S. military in order to have her  education funded by U.S. taxpayers, and who agreed, of course, to serve in the military in exchange.   However, once she received deployment orders to Iraq, she brought a lawsuit in an attempt to vacate  her deployment orders, on the purported basis that U.S. President Obama is merely a "de facto"  president and that, therefore, she should not have to go to Iraq.   Here are the documents.

Request for Reconsideration /Motion for Stay of Deployment

 September 17, 2009

(This was categorized by Orly Taitz as a motion for a stay of deployment, but the court treated it as a request for reconsideration since that was

the only avenue open to the plaintiff after the complaint  was dismissed, and the content reads as a request for reconsideration despite Taitz's

apparent inability to characterize it correctly).

 Reconsideration Denied
