I am a recent graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. Currently, I work as an Environmental Laboratory Intern at the Ithaca Area Wastewater Treatment Facility in Ithaca, NY.
While at Ithaca College, I studied the fate and transport of pollutants, and ultimately how contaminants impact environmental and human health. I conducted research projects assessing migration of heavy metals in sediments and examined the uptake of endocrine disruptors in plants via biosolids. Within the past year, I have held internship positions examining local air and water quality at the Tompkins County Health Department and City of Ithaca Water Treatment Plant in Ithaca, NY.
After years of assisting with disaster relief efforts in Owego, NY; Staten Island, NY; and New Orleans, LA, I have witnessed the social an
d economic struggles of underserved communities after natural disasters. I am now applying to graduate programs in environmental health to coordinate my academic interests with my passion for assisting populations in need.
