About the Lebanon Garden Club

We are a very friendly group who enjoy the art and practice of hands-on gardening. Our goal is to have fun as we practice and study gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, horticulture, floral arranging, design and decoration.

In the Strawberry Center of the Valley

Once "The Strawberry Center of the Willamette Valley" (from a 1912 Lebanon Commercial Club booklet), Lebanon's gardening and horticulture has been officially supported by Lebanon Garden Club since August 1937. Although less strawberries are grown locally today, the richness of the South Santiam Valley continues to support a wealth of gardens and we help "harvest" that bounty.

We Help Educate and Promote Gardening

As a non-profit corporation, we have educational meetings, workshops, and charitable projects. Our goal is to have fun as we study gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design and horticulture. In support of this goal, we make charitable donations to Oregon Gardens - Childrens Garden in Silverton Oregon; Linn County 4-H Scholarship; Lebanon Habitat for Humanity-Landscaping; Claire Hanley Scholarship Fund for OSU Horticulture students; Claire Hanley Book of Remembrance; Claire Hanley Book of Friendship; Planting Seeds of Change Program for the Lebanon School District.

We Support Our Goals As Members of National Clubs

We are members of the National Garden Clubs Inc., Pacific Region of National Garden Clubs and Oregon State Federation of Garden Clubs, Santiam District Garden Clubs.
