Happy May Greetings To All Learning Circle Participants;

The session of Learning Circles is winding down and teachers are beginning to send their final projects/publications.

If you are working on your final publications/presentations, please do not wait any longer for material from other schools. Use the information you have even if it is only the work of your own students.

Final publications/presentations are a summation of all the information you collected for your project. It is NOT the work you sent to other schools for their projects. Your final publication/presentation should feature the work that was sent to you from other schools as well as the work of your own students.

The Final Project Page is active and ready for your projects.

http://www.iearn.org/circles/2014session1/index.htm

This is the current timeline for finishing this session of Learning Circles.

May 5 to 11, 2014
Organizing the Circle Publication (Finish your Publications and send them)

May 12 to 25, 2014
Closing the Circle (Goodbye Messages)

May 31, 2014
All current Circles will be closing.
Registration deadline for the January to May 2013 session of Learning Circles

June 10, 2014
All access to the forums will end

September 30, 2014 - The new session of Learning Circles will begin with new groupings.

A few items to remember:

1. Final projects/presentations must be in some cross-platform application such as: Word document (.doc, .docx), PowerPoint Presentation (.ppt), html file, Web site, blog, Wiki, PDF file, movie file, or an Mp3 file. Please try to make your final project/presentation one document. You can have more than one publication, but please try to limit the number. The great thing about digital formats and downloadable pages is that we can make the information easily accessible to everyone.

2.  If you have finished a project and would like it featured on the Finished Project Page I would appreciate it very much if you would send me a copy of your completed project/presentation as a Word document, PDF file, PowerPoint presentation, html file, MP3 file, or URL address. Also, please send me the:

Your full name:
Name of your group (cce1, mwh1, pph1, etc.):
Class that worked on the project:
Name of your school:
City, state/region, and country:
Name of your project:

Projects and URL addresses can be sent to bskramer48@hotmail.com or learningcircles@gmail.com.

3.  The Web address for the Finished Project page for the January to May 2014 session is:

http://www.iearn.org/circles/2014session1/index.htm

After you send me work, I will post it and then send you a message so that you can check your information, document, and links.

4.  Please remember to send a Goodbye Message to your Learning Circles group after you have completed your final project/presentation and have sent it to me.

5.  If you would like an iEARN Learning Circles teacher participant certificate please let me know. In order to qualify you would need to have: (1) been an active teacher/leader, (2) submitted student work for other schools in your Circle, and (3) submitted the final project/presentation of your students. Certificates can only be sent as pdf files. I will also need the following information:

Your full name:
Name of your group (cce1, mwh1, pph1, etc.):
Name of your school:
City, state/region, and country:

6. Fundación Evolución, the NGO which supports the TELAR-iEARN network in Argentina, will host the iEARN Conference and Youth Summit in 2014 from June 29 - July 5, 2014 in Puerto Madryn, in the province of Chubut, Argentina.

Registration details are now online: http://iearn2014.org/eng

There will be Learning Circles presentations at the conference.

Please consider attending this year’s conference.  It is an incredible educational and cultural experience.

If you have any questions or need more information about any of this please contact me at bskramer48@hotmail.com or learningcircles@gmail.com.

It is time to submit your final project/presentation,
Barry

Time is flying by, publishing deadlines coming

TIME FLIES.....you should be finished or finishing your writing for Circle projects.  Remember other schools are depending on your to keep to the schedule!  I have seen a great deal of writing these past two weeks in all of the Circles.  However, there are still many projects that are waiting for response.

Following schedules is an important workplace skill.  Your Circle is free to adjust the deadlines according to the needs of your Circle members.

Your Circles will remain open with the current participants through May 30, 2014.

Your Group Settings

posted Jan 31, 2014, 7:38 AM by Yung-tai Tu

You are in the Places and Perspectives Learning Circle 1 (Elementary School) – Teachers group.

In the beginning of January you applied to join a Learning Circle group.  At that time your status was “pending.” I have now changed your status and you are now an “Active User.”

The first thing you should do is log into your iEARN account and access your Member Dashboard.  Please remember to use the same name and password you used to register for Learning Circles.  When you go to the Collaboration tab and click on My Groups, you should see that you are subscribed to Places and Perspectives Learning Circle 1 (Elementary School) – Teachers group. Click on your group to go to your forum.

Next, check to see if you are receiving email notifications.   When you see your group, look on the left hand side.  You will see a menu.  Click on the link for “My Group Settings.”  Please click the box that reads “Receive forum posts via email and enable topic creation via email.”  You will now receive an email posting for every message that is posted in the forum. (Please note that you will NOT receive a copy of the message you post.)

You are now free to post a message in the forum by clicking on “Add a Topic.” You may also use email to initiate a topic or respond to a topic by using your Learning Circle forum email address.
