I grew up in Palo Alto, California as it was growing from a quiet town into the center of Silicon Valley. I was fortunate to benefit from a wide variety of educational opportunities, including a Jewish education that spanned the Orthodox spectrum. Early on, I knew I wanted to write and teach. While still in grade school I discovered a passion for biology and neurobiology. I've taught for over two decades to students from preschool age to adults, covering subjects as diverse as advanced Bible studies to the neurobiology of learning. Writing is my creative outlet and my books for children have won numerous awards. I'm eagerly awaiting publication of my newest project, "The Family Tehillim," an annotation on the Book of Psalms. I currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with my family, where I enjoy knitting and walking in the verdant parks that embrace our neighborhood. | AWARDS Agency for Jewish Learning Fellow: 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003 Merkos Chinuch Office Grantee: 2005, 2003, 2001 Glimcher Fellow: 2007, 2005, 1996 EDUCATION Nova Southeastern University, M.S.
