Welcome.

In 1994, the European Commission's Directorate General of Education awarded us with the NetD@ys award for our Training course on setting up and working in a Virtual Office and knowledge management strategy for organisations.

It is still one of our most valued training courses. You can find more on it at our page on the  Erasmus+ Salto-Partner Search & Trainer database: https://www.salto-youth.net/tools/otlas-partner-finding/project/2013-23-un-decade-rapprochement-of-cultures-setting-up-a-virtual-office-knowledge-mgt-strategy-for-yr-organisation.9382/

The picture is what our Virtual Office looked like in 1994.

Our Virtual Office consists basically out of :
  1. a publicly visible part - one of the pages is the page you are reading now.  When we use the admin tool to give you administrator rights, at the top of this page, 2 buttons will appear: edit/save page, add a new page.  Not that at the bottem right of your screen there's a "Translate" button, making the site available in just about every major language.
  2. a members only part - a backoffice only visible for members, where we prepare stuff
  3. a shared drive to bring together all the info, docs, spreadsheets, images, ...
  4. documents that allow collaborative writing on the same page at the same time, idem for presentations, spreadsheets, drawings, etc.  Being with 5 competent people who all know what to do writing out a project or spreadsheet is an amazing experience.
  5. discussion tools:
    1. a discussion group / email dispatching address per project: an easy to remember email.  Send an email to it and it will dispatch the email to all members of the group.  When people change email address, they have to change it in the member-module.  Believe me, when you have a group of 10, you'd be amazed how quickly people change emails.
    2. life discussion tools: when you are on a document, and someone else shows up, you can google chat and messenger video-talk / screen share with each other.
    3. Check it out
  6. Calendars sending out alerts to all members working on a particular project
  7. Polling tool
  8. etc.
To visualise things, watch this series of 2-5' videoclips.  Remember, you can put more and more movies in your own local language by switching on "subtitles" and then selecting translate (based on google translate). If subtitles go too fast, just press the pause button and restart to match your tempo.  Have fun, and for every video you've watched you can give yourselves 1 point in the score board to the right.  If you don't have a coach yet, contact us.
