Why have a Senior All-Nighter?

Teen Deaths at Graduation

High school graduation ceremonies are supposed to celebrate new beginnings - a time when young lives filled with potential enter the adult world. Unfortunately, some graduates never make it past the first night.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports about 2,500 teenage drivers are involved in fatal crashes each year. Auto accidents remain the leading cause of death among teenagers. Graduation night has the highest death toll of the year for teenagers, because alcohol-related traffic accidents remain the No. 1 killer of America's teens. The evening of graduation is the crown jewel of all party nights. With annual events like proms and graduation parties, the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day has been labeled “The 100 Deadliest Days” for teen drivers. Mile for mile, teenagers are involved in three times as many fatal crashes as all other drivers.

The SAN

Established in 1988, The Lewis & Clark Senior All Nighter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit offering our senior graduates a memorable, sober & SAFE way to celebrate their graduation. This important event is a gift from senior parents and their community. Entertainment, games, prizes, food and beverage are provided through the generous contributions of 100’s of volunteer hours, business donations and extensive fund raising.

The SAN is organized to be fun and has historically attracted a 66% participation rate. It is open to all seniors, and only our seniors, and is free to those students identified by our school counselors as needing financial assistance.

It is alcohol free. It is memorable. It is celebratory. It is safe. It is special.

It is also funded entirely by parent volunteers and community support. Please join us in helping to keep our teens safe by supporting a memorable and sober graduation night celebration, and introduce your business to these emerging community leaders and citizens.
