Endangered Red-cockaded Woodpecker
Boiling Spring Lakes
Meetings are usually in 202 Dobo Hall (click for directions) on the UNCW campus at 7:30 PM. Any changes will be in the newsletter or emailed to the club. The meetings are generally for fellowship and to discuss local bird sightings and other topics concerning birds. There is normally a presentation which is by a club member, or guest speaker. These presentations vary from professional, scholarly discussions of birds to expert amateur slide shows, reports of members trips and presentations of member photos. The club welcomes non-members as visitors to both the meetings and field trips.
There will usually be a field trip the following Saturday after each meeting. We visit Fort Fisher, Carolina Beach State Park, Wrightsville Beach, Holly Shelter Game Lands, Sunset Beach, EV Henwood, Greenswamp, Brunswick Town, Greenfield Lake, and a number of other local birding sites. There also have been trips by individuals and groups of club members to Texas, Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Maine, Colorado, California, Mattamuskeet, Outer Banks, Charleston, Huntington Beach, etc.
