Some animals really do mean business when it comes to protecting themselves. This camp investigates plants and animals that use spines, spikes, poison, and venom to protect themselves and campers will get up close and personal to some amazing animals and plants!

During camp, we will:

Day 1:

  • Learn about super animals.

  • Go crabbing at the beach on the National Wildlife Refuge.

  • Meet a bird.

Day 2:

  • Learn about poisonous and venomous animals and plants.

  • Feed the rays.

  • Meet a reptile.

Day 3:

  • Learn about animals with a "scary" bite.

  • Visit and feed the Living Coast sharks.

  • Go to Raptor Row and see the amazing raptors.

Day 4:

  • Learn about animals that sting.

  • Meet moon jellies and learn about their adaptations.

  • Explore how bees pollinate.

Day 5:

  • Meet a green sea turtle.

  • Learn about the sea turtle lifecycle.

  • Visit animals in the Living Coast galleria.


All camp schedules and activities are subject to change based off organizational and animal needs. Campers attending half-day camps may not participate in all the activities mentioned above.
