Weeding without Worry

posted May 16, 2016, 8:31 AM by Lawrence County Public Library
One of the most challenging aspects of a library is weeding.  A collection must constantly be weeded, or at some point, a library will no longer have room to add new items.  At the Lawrence County Public Library, we weed for items with no circulation history in the past 3 to 5 years.  We do consider an items literary merit and relevancy as a part of this process.  The vast majority of the items we weed from our collection are then offered for sale during our book sales.
